I've been with Howden, formerly A-Plan, for a long time & have several insurances with them. I don't automatically renew any insurance & they will advise immediately if there's a better deal.
However cheap a quote is, it's important to know that you are dealing with a good company who will pay out in the event of a claim. This is where their advice provides valuable peace of mind. Also in the event of a claim it's useful to have someone to guide you through the process if you are unfamiliar with it. The staff are friendly & helpful with a good knowledge. Despite getting quotes elsewhere I usually end up insuring through them.

Changed my car insurance company this year after being with the same company for over 15 years.
The cost increase was too much to bear and Howden's Insurance not only provided magnificent customer service they also got me a policy with a household name for a near 50% reduction on what my old insurer quoted.
