I have used APlan in the past to insure my car. Several years ago, I was involved in a minor accident ( my fault ). At the time APlan did not give me the service I felt was required. I kept receiving a summons to attend Court, but they did not on several occasions deal with the matter, as they said they would. It put me off using them.
I have gone back to using them. the reason being I did not really have time to or the inclination to seek alternative quotes, and their seemed reasonable. On this occasion it took three attempts to get the correct mileage corrected on my insurance policy; they just kept sending me the same documents; the threat of saying II would cancel my insurance, caused the correction to be made the same day; disappointing. It makes me wonder, if I am in an accident again, whether they will get things right or not?

My car insurance is with A-Plan Bournemouth branch but the renewal quote seemed very high, and I was very close to changing insurance provider as I was getting far cheaper quotes online compared to the new quote from A-Plan for renewal. However, the long chat with one of their staff made me realise that renewing with A-Plan was actually the better option in the end, due to the free 'extras' in the policy that I had not realized were there until it was properly explained to me. The quote ended up being lower than the original renewal quote as well, as my circumstances had recently changed, meaning a slightly reduced cost when the renewal was re-reviewed. What also made me stay with A-Plan was the fact that when I had to make a claim about 8 years ago when my car was badly damaged when a deer ran into my car, A-Plan instantly took over the entire claim procedure on my behalf, and within two hours I had a loan car delivered and my damaged car taken away for repair. This sort of positive experience when you need it, and the very attentive service from Lauren yesterday, sways your decision.
Even though you may pay a few pounds more, knowing you can speak to someone easily and quickly every time you make a call to A-Plan, or can just drop into one of their local offices, is far more reassuring than having to wait for ages on hold with a large faceless call centre.
