Speaking from experience it’s good to have the peace of mind to know we can go direct to Howden or even call in to their office if we ever have a problem or need to make an enquiry, whereas it’s a nightmare dealing through companies on line only with next to no customer service and possibly get scammed. The staff spent time and effort to find the right policies at the right price for both our car and house insurance.

Had Motorhome insurance arranged through Howdens which was arranged by Kerry Cornwell so elected to get our home insurance via the same route. Kerry sorted everything out again. I was pleased with the initial quote for the insurance of our campervan. Then, when I returned the call to agree to taking out the policy, the agent then started quoting a higher cost as there were several “add on” benefits that increased the policy price. This then took the price up to the same as other policies we had considered but dismissed due to the high cost.
The agent was happy to consider these elements and not add these, the price was only a few pounds less in the end for the same policy.
I do feel the additional elements of a policy should be up front and transparent at the initial quote. There should not be additional costs added once the quote has been considered and agreed upon!
The agents I dealt with were both polite and courteous and I am happy with the policy I do have with the company.
