Didn’t give me there best price from the off they eventually reduced the price twice why wasn’t I offered the reduced price the first time as I have been a loyal customer for years and have several insurances with you

I have been using Howdens Insurance formerly A Plan for many years and always been satisfied with their service and competitive pricing. The last couple of years I have dealt with Anna Siatkowska and I cannot recommend her enough, Anna is very informative and professional and alongside this she is so patient and explains everything very accurately and clearly, she is an absolute treasure and asset to this company, I hope to be dealing with her for many more years to come, she takes the pain out of a tedious chore, thank you Anna

Our motor trade policy was up for renewal and our current insurer came back with price of approx £8k which was an £800 increase over last year. This was despite us reducing certain cover levels and removing products such as unaccompanied demo insurance and courtesy cars in attempt to make some savings.

We were told by our Broker that insurance had gone up across the board and the best they could potentially offer us was cover via a new insurer. They had quoted £6600, but he felt he could negotiate this down to £6000. The downside though was it was possible they would require us to upgrade our alarm system.

This was far from ideal and a significant cost, so I decided to shop around. Some contacts in the trade recommended Howden, and having spoken with Jem Emirali, he was extremely fast and responsive to allocate a member of their quotation team to me.

I dealt with Lloyd Gough who was fantastic throughout and put in a lot of effort to obtain me a product to fit our needs. From initially taking our details at 9am, he had a firm underwrite in place and deal agreed by 2pm! This was super impressive and in my experience with motor trade insurance it can often take days to get quotes, let alone everything finalised.

The best part though was the actual quotation. Lloyd managed to get me covered for nearly £3000 less than last year! Also the cover was better than that of our outgoing provider.

The icing on the cake was that the new insurer was perfectly happy with our alarm. Also they would not require an inspection of our Premises due to them sharing the same Assessors as our previous insurer. Brilliant!

Something else I want to raise is how honest they were throughout when providing quotes. Rightly or wrongly, I was totally honest with them about what I had previously been quoted. They therefore had the opportunity to potentially ‘load’ the price of their quote and still undercut the competition. Regardless of this they still came in massively cheaper. I think that’s a testament in itself as to how this company conducts themselves and ultimately installs trust.

In summary, I am extremely pleased with every aspect of my dealings with Howden and specifically Lloyd. Nothing has been an issue and his ‘no nonsense’, straightforward approach has been refreshing. Many thanks

We have been with Howden (previously A-Plan) for many years and have always had excellent service. Our house insurance is due for renewal and the quote for the next year was considerably higher than last year. I have always dealt with the Cheltenham branch, so I phoned them for a chat. I have to say that the service I received from Kyle was quite outstanding. He was patient, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. In a short time he had suggested a few minor tweaks to the policy that reduced the cost of the new premium by nearly £200, resulting in a very satisfied, happy client. I can't recommend the company too highly.

Wonderful service from Maria in the Welwyn Garden City branch. She took time to understand my situation and car insurance requirements. Meeting face-to-face is so much better than an online comparison site, and the premium was competitive too.

Molly Aldridge was amazing. Really helpful, explained everything really clearly. Took me through multiple different options. Really understanding on what was a very stressful morning beforehand and persevered through the call even though my connection dipped at times. Couldn’t have asked for better or more and it was honestly a pleasure speaking to her - thank you Molly!

Having reached my renewal time I did the usual price comparisons and came up with a much cheaper equivalent. Phoned Howdens and spoke to Tay who was able to pretty much match this new quote. Yay was lovely to deal with whilst also being super efficient and clear about the whole renewal process. Highly recommend dealing with this company, Tay is a credit to them.

Just wanted to say Thanks to Richard Spencer for helping me understand the issues I have been up against it getting a sensible car insurance quote, unfortunately due to factors outside of his control I haven't taken out a policy with Howden Insurance.
