Nothing is too much trouble for Marie Beardsley. I had a complicated car insurance situation to resolve and Marie was brilliant in sorting everything for me and making it so easy to get it completed. Marie’s a credit to the company and they are lucky to have her!

Excellent phone manner and service Ben Lever should get a pay rise polite and friendly after my car crash, he insured my total right off cat s and it was very competitive.

We have all our insurance Howden (A-Plan), house and two cars. We've used them since my first ever car policy about 40 years ago, can't believe that, guess I've sort of grown up with them!

Bottom line is that one can sometimes find a cheaper policy somewhere, for something, but there will always be a catch, an exclusion. Like for like Howden (A-Plan) have always been price competitive, that's why I've stayed with them.

Then there's the personal customer service side of things. If something happens (and in 40 years it has) I can go to my branch (or call them, instantly getting through) and speak with a real human being who looks after me, not a chat bot, not waiting on hold for a (remote) call centre to eventually answer.

In this age of AI, automation, off-shore call centres and the pursuit of naked profit over customer service, Howden (A-Plan) clearly stand out above their competition. If they continue putting their customers first, I will continue to be their customer. I'm sure they will, and I will.

Our house insurance needed renewing and Howdens had been recommended to us. This task was approached with some trepidation, not having been done from scratch for a number of years. However I needn't have worried at all. The phone was answered by a very cheerful voice and I was guided, with considerable patience, through all the necessary steps for the task. This was despite not having been prepared and needing lots of explanations, and a phone system which seemed intent of disrupting our conversation with continuous buzzing!! So a big well done and thank you to Maria for all her help.

I have been dealing with both the Evesham and Cheltenham branches on behalf of a relative who is currently hospitalised. Deborah at Evesham and Jack/Steven at Cheltenham have provided first class customer service during a very difficult time for our family Based on my experience to date I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone. It makes a nice change to be able to communicate with real people, who listen to your needs, instead of online chat boxes.

Howdens were recommended to us by friends who arrange all their insurance through Howdens. We were looking for a quote for our boat insurance. We dealt with Quinton at the Parkstone office who was able to save us 15% on the renewal quotation from our existing insurer. Very pleasant and easy transaction, would highly recommend Howdens. We will be contacting them again in the near future when our car insurance is due for renewal.

I spoke with Lewis Hands, at Swindon branch, in order to renew our home insurance. He was friendly, polite and definitely knew the marketplace, and how to ensure we had the correct product. I would highly recommend the team; it's good talking to real people
