Having previously used their predecessor, Gade Insurance, I found Howden unnecessarily complicated. Gade sent a reminder (car insurance) with a recommendation then we phoned, accepted & paid, they sent the insurance details. Howden email a great deal of bumph which takes time to sort. Finding the letter at the end with their recommendation I rang them. There wasn’t “anyone to take my call” though I was still taken through all the details of car & drivers etc. I said I would ring back which I did but once again had to go through all the information they already had. It was very frustrating. At the end the quote was less than in their letter - fine but confusing. I’m not sure I want to go through that every time so may look for another broker who makes it easier as Gade Insurance did - such a shame they sold up!

I was very impressed by the approachability and knowledge of Jack Cromer at the Birmingham Office. He was endlessly patient and spent time dealing satisfactorily with all my queries, however small. Without his intervention and experience I would have made a serious error in insurance choice because my own knowledge is very limited.
