Proficient staff. Very comfy bed. Clean room. Good food. What more could you ask for?

The service I received, especially from the young lady from Glasgow (in the restaurant last night and this morning) was commendable. I left happy, which made my onward jouney to Scotland on the coach even more enjoyable. Thank you. :-)

The room was big and airy, with a really comfortable bed. The staff on reception (both times was a man with a Liverpool accent) was really friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again, we both slept like logs and we were able to park outside.

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago with a friend for a Uni reunion.

We rang ahead letting them know we wanted to check in early as we were arriving at 12pm, they advised they would try their best as the hotel wasn't too busy. We arrived and we were checked in without any bother or hassle, the scouse gentleman on reception was lovely and helpful and made an effort to chat and joke.

The room was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfy.

Check out was easy and the girls on reception again made an effort to have conversation that didn't seem forced and put on.

Overall we had a very nice stay made even better by the friendly staff. Value for money.

We stayed here as a large group for one night as were in Preston to watch our football team in a match at Deepdale.

The hotel is located very close to the city centre, just a five minute walk to the main bars and pubs.

The room was on the fifth floor with a good city view. The room was clean and furnished to a decent standard.

The staff we met across the hotel were really friendly. The Scouse guy on reception was a good laugh! We drank in the hotel bar before our night out. It was chilled out and they were more than happy for us to move furniture around so we could watch the live football on the TV in our large group!

The hotel was also quite well located for the football on the Sunday - I'd say just over a 20 minute walk from the hotel to Deepdale.

Good value for money at £58 for a twin room. Would stay again if we ever needed to head back to Preston!

My brother has recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Ring ay Preston. He was attending a wedding near Preston and asked me to call them for parking advice. I spoke to a young man on reception called Mark. he was extremely helpful and went out of his way to give us advice on the best taxi firm to use, what to expect to be charged and the various options if their car park was full. He really went the extra mile and we would like to thank him. Janet Winter & Paul Boden. Bolton

Arrived at hotel, reception staff friendly enough, room on 2nd floor, so used the stairs, found that the stair well was in need of a fresh paint job and quite in-welcoming. Room itself, clean and fresh, instead of curtains there was timber shutters on rollers which was a bit strange. Used the resturant in the evening, all was nice and fresh, buffet style breakfast agin was fresh, although I asked waitress for 2nd pot of tea, am still waiting for that pot. Having stayed in many Holiday Inns and found to be one I won't rush back to in a hurry.

In comparison to the Premier Inn in London, this was a bargain at 45 pounds per night. Room was comfortable. Again no drawers. What is it with hotels in Britain? Free WiFi but poor quality. Generally quiet except for being awakened at 5:00 by a group of Yahoos in the hallway in a drunken stupor. Steps away from the centre of the City. Staff were again very friendly except for being berated immediately on arrival for being half an hour early for booking in.

We were driving from Edinburgh to Liverpool on Thursday the 7th of May 2015 and decided to find somewhere to stay the night . To our delight we saw the Holiday Inn hotel parking was at a premium so I parked over the door way and went to reception and was greeted by a very very helpfully lady who not only organised a room for us but cam down to the car park and moved a car to give us a car park near the door (I have a mobility problem) The next morning I tried to book a train from Liverpool to London and another lady at reception did this for me and a gentleman from reservations was kind enough to do some printing for me which meant he had to go up a couple of floors twice all of this was done with a smile . Room good breakfast great service outstanding.

Usual standard chain hotel. Clean and tidy. Rooms are averages size. Wifi is reliable. Restaurant menu is not special but provides good variety and is the same as the bar menu. Mainly occupied by people there on business. On site car park is small so overflow is in the bus station car park across the road.

Stayed there on 6/5/15. A well located hotel. Rooms comfortable and well appointed. Breakfasts are excellent. I feel compelled to commend both the reception and breakfast staff, who I found to be friendly, attentive and helpful. A brief but pleasant stay.

Perfect for a few days in Preston, staff very very friendly, had some great conversation at times, great location, very central to everything.

Ate in the restaurant once, good choice, also tried the bar menu and it was quite tasty in more of an informal setting, either way I was well fed.

Would definitely return if visiting again!!

This was a lovely hotel, anything needed they were happy to help, even with super glue which they left the hotel to get (no charge) and scissors, lol don't ask! Lovely clean room, no complaints but I will say there isn't a huge amount of parking. Staff could not wait to help you and had a great sense of humour. Close to everything. All in all a perfectly lovely stay and would stay again.

You tend to know what your getting with a holiday inn, a clean and tidy room for a reasonable fee, that exactly what we had.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful especially with parking (not much on site)

Hotel is placed perfectly for central Preston for bars and restaurants.

I arrived very late due to rail problems so was very weary. The excellent reception staff revived my spirits. All the staff at the hotel where extremely friendly , in particular the breakfast staff ( ok if you are a miorning person , may be too cheery if you are not !! )

Clean and pleasant room, although a bit small and single beds take some getting used to ( double room , twin beds)

Nice hotel. Staff are very friendly it's a shame about the view. Either the car park and the bus station or the main ring road are your views. If you have a choice take the ring road view, although it's noisier from the traffic. The rooms are small. We had a twin bedded room, but they are clean. Parking can be a nightmare when busy bug the hotel has an arrangement with the company next door to use there's when the hotel is full

IHG webpage ballsed up my amended booking, but Donna on reception sorted me out with a room, Full marks for sorting out an irate and tired customer. Usual problems getting a parking spot in the car park, but decent enough sleep and steak in bar was fine. Range of beers is poor, nothing locally crafted.

Some holiday inns need a coat of paint this one has had one so looks better than the average one. On check in staff very helpful, I could not get the Internet to work they came and sorted it out. Fitness centre is small but functional, however it did seem to get full quickly. Car park is small I arrived early so not problem for me but it did seem full soon after I arrived. Breakfast was good staff helpful and service was good.

First impressions weren't brilliant. Reception on first floor and for the first time ever I was given an already occupied room which made for an embarrassing conversation at someone else's door! To be fair the receptionist quickly sorted it out and gave me a voucher for the bar. Room had been recently renovated, nice decor and a/c that worked very well. Nice to have free wifi as well. Breakfast okay with helpful staff. Unfortunately hotel layout meant that you either had view of Preston ring road or the Brutalist architecturally styled bus station. For business or 1 night then okay but location precludes from recommending for anything else.

Stayed here for one night with my husband and my parents following a trip to the Grand National. Lovely clean, warm and friendly hotel. The staff could not do enough for us. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the food was lovely. We had lunch when we arrived which was toasted sandwiches and curly fries - can't go wrong there! The breakfast was buffet style and could have done with being a bit warmer but apart from that it was a perfect stay. The bar stayed open until the early hours, something which we loved! I didn't find a single member of staff that was not happy to be there. Our rooms were overcharged from the rate we booked them at but the reception staff were quick to have this amended and it was all sorted out swiftly. We walked into the centre of Preston from the hotel, it was only a 5 minute walk. Hotel conveniently placed for major routes in and out of Preston. Car parking was limited but we were lucky to find a space and if it is full there is a large public car park next door at the bus station. We stayed on the 7th floor and faced out to the front of the hotel where the main road is and there was hardly any noise. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

It was last minute and a cheap price, I'm glad I didnt pay more than I did for it (53). Couldn't fault the staff, they were really friendly. The room was tired, dated and in need of a bit of an overhaul.

I think the Windows need a really good clean, particularly the ledges. the complimentary toiletries were half used when we arrived!? I dont normally use them anyway but I didn't expect it to have been used by the previous occupant.

Clean beds, the choice of firm and soft pillows is a great idea. Big tv and free WiFi also fab.

Checked in later on in the day around 6pm and lots of people loitering in reception area so was abit confusing who had already been served and who had not but was checked in quickly and the reception staff were nice.

Room small but enough space, if I was going to be fussy a few more plug sockets would be nice especially if it was two girls sharing (we only had 2 plug sockets).

No problem coming back late at night, the lifts on the ground floor don't work so you have to walk past reception which I guess is to stop people bringing people back in after a night out!

Breakfast was annoying, we got to the breakfast bit and it said wait here to be seated, we waited 15 minutes and nobody came to tell us to sit down, couldnt find anyone to ask. We went back to reception but one receptionist on duty and there was a que so we went back into breakfast and just sat down. As soon as we sat down someone came over asking if we had booked, explained we had been waiting over 15 minutes at the entrance.

Check out was also irritating, one receptionist on duty and no less than 5 people waiting to check out, not good if you are in a rush and want to get gone.

Nice hotel, clean, friendly staff. Would stay again but could do with more staff especially peak times such as check out and breakfast.

Only stayed one night on business.
The first room I was allocated was a little on the small side and I asked to change it due to it having an adjoining door (I am a female travelling alone), the second room was much better, on the road side, but not noisy or disruptive. I had an evening meal in the restaurant, which was kind of pub food but good quality pub food.
Good choice of food at breakfast time.
If I revisit Preaton, I would stay here again.

Arrived to find the advertised car park quite a way away over the bus depot, then checked in after carrying my bags quite a long way to a computer glitch on check in. Other than that check in ok.
The room was ok but nothing special a little small to spread out all of my things to do a little work.
The restaurant was ok for dinner but the waiter and waitress seemed to be pushing extra drinks a I was asked once if I wanted another but to be asked a second and both times to ask if I required more alcohol was a little pushy.
The room was noisy at night, I could hear the buses quite late into the night then again early in the morning.
Also in the morning you could hear motorbikes quite plain.
The bed was made in a way that I had to pull the blankets to get them over me as the room was not warm.
Breakfast was good except for the wait to be seated there was a que of 5 deep
breakfast was good with all you would expect.
