We had a meal in the restaurant to celebrate my 40th birthday and couldn't praise it highly enough the food was great and staff were brilliant couldn't do enough to make sure it was a special night that we wanted. Special mention to Kirsty for organising and Rick for serving us as well as the rest of the staff whose names I did not get. Give yourselves a pat on the back and accept all our thanks. You all made a special night extra special thank you all. Thanks very much for the card and the balloons and the cake was yum.

Stayed here for two nights, easy to get to off the motorway. Good city centre location, however it has limited parking for the size of hotel. There is a car park next to the hotel which is very handy. Reception is located on the 1st floor with lift access from the lobby. Staff on the desk were welcoming, rooms are a bit dated but clean and beds are comfy, we had a room with a good view across the city rather than the carpark and bus station at the other. Breakfast was great with plenty to choose from something for all tastes.

Dont be worried about the look of the hotel as you arrive. The car park is tiny, needed to park in the bus garage car park opposite and then lug the bags across the bus station and road.
Receotion oddly on the first floor. Staff excellent friendly and really seemed to want to help. The hotel despite the look outside seems to have been updated more recently than other IHG hotels, all in all ok

The hotel its self is ok. Reception Staff were very friendly and helpful. My stay did not get off to the best of starts, Very small car park full. Was offered alternative but had to be out for 7 which was good for me but maybe not others. The bar was fine but the TV was focused terrible so the picture missed the score off on the football. Then while we all watching the match. A manager decided to tell off a member of staff but in the room just as it was silent so we heard it all, Not very professional. My room was ok but no ironing board. Breakfast was good nice variation and yoghurts where really nice.

I stay over at this hotel several times a year and I am never disappointed. The staff are exceptionally professional and on our last visit the front desk were having to deal with a difficult and unpleasant customer. The staff passed with full marks; polite, calming and courteous all the time.

When deciding between a 4 or 5 star review it occurred to me that aside from issues with the free Wi-Fi there was no way of faulting this hotel and more importantly, the staff here are excellent. Above and beyond the call of duty types who made the stay ideal.

To be clear, this is obviously a bog standard Holiday Inn hotel but it's in good order and the staff make it a stand out.

Stayed last weekend for a family wedding and a family BBQ the next day, did not spend much time in the hotel but staff were very friendly, room was clean and had a very comfy bed, breakfast was help yourself and was of good quality and you could eat as much as you want. We have another family wedding next year and will book again.

Great staff, very helpful and check in and check out was very smooth. Room perfect in every way, I was on sixth floor. Air conditioning kept the room at a constant 18. Free car parking, free wifi, budget menu deals and free use of their mini gym on 7th floor. A few of their staff went out of their way to help me and that made working away a lot more tolerable. Would use again!

Stayed for 10 nights when working in Preston. Ideal for the centre of town which is only steps away. The rooms are of a good standard. The mini gym is exactly that (mini) with little equipment, a hotel this size should provide better gym facilities. Be aware the parking is very limited.

We stayed for one night on this weekend, The staff on duty from Liverpool was very friendly and helpful. Gave us all relevant info we needed, car park across the road was £4 for 24hrs but free if you can get a space in the hotel's car park. The hotel is very central, walking distance to restaurants and bars. Room was clean and bed was very comfy. Breakfast had everything we wanted, staff at breakfast were polite and helpful. I will recommend this hotel for a central base in Preston.

You get what you pay for, average as standard room service etc the only very good thing is your IN THE CITY so its basically next door, but the price was good, i would recommend this hotel if your going out clubbing in preston or if your wanting to visit preston for a shopping trip etc.

I rarely stay at Holiday Inn hotels and the last time I stayed at one my overall observation was very similar. My observations are that Holiday Inn Hotels are not as popular as they used to be, I believe more people are using the cheaper more cost effective Express Holiday Inns - which appear to be much more modern - fresher, more vibrant and generally 'up tempo' at much less cost to customers, not many of whom require ironing boards, 'free' biscuits, trouser presses or gyms, or at extra cost - breakfast.

Nevertheless this is a good hotel, but like many other Holiday Inn Hotels - it just needs a revamp.

Had an overnight stay here recently, the hotel is ideally situated near the town centre and close to the local nightlife, the room was typical Holiday Inn and perfectly adequate, the staff were friendly and helpful ,breakfast was good the only small issue i had was the delay in staff bringing coffee and tea to our table and by the time we had it delivered we had finished eating. There was a bus trip in at that time and to be fair breakfast was really busy, however i'd have no hesitation in returning.

This is a typical 3* HI hotel-not typical are the staff. Raised it from 2/5 to 4/5. Josie in the restaurant, Chris in the bar, Julie and Mark on reception all 5*. Friendly, kind and responsive to everyone they came into contact with.

I have stated in this hotel on two occasions now for business.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are modern, clean and have all the amenities you could need.
The beds are comfortable with a choice of soft or firm pillows.
Breakfast couldn't be faulted with a great choice of full English, cereals, porridge, toast, fruit, ect.
The only downside to staying here is the parking. It's very limited but there is a cheap multi-storey across the road.

Stayed here for 2 nights, upon arrival we were greeted by friendly reception staff, the room was very clean and plenty of shower gel, hand wash and tea, coffee making facilities, nothing seemed too much trouble, would definitely return. The mini gym is also good and has great views whilst you work out.

Stayed just one night. Nice comfortable bed in a room with a view of the now listed Bus Station in Preston with the hills in the distance. Excellent location - very handy for town. Very limited car parking but they make you aware of this when you book. We got there about 3pm and got a space, so not an issue for us.

I had an unbelievable experience with the central reservations office inc a manager, so bad that I phoned the hotel directly only to find that my booking was not only the wrong price for the three nights and that it did not have B&B which was agreed with central reservations and that it was also on their website. Thank god for Donna a very professional & polite lady who went out of her way to help me and sort out my booking, unfortunately Donna was going on holiday that night so a big thank you for sorting everything out, on arrival a lovely young man called Mark met us and sorted us out a coffee whilst our room was being prepared, he was excellent in the three days we were there and gave us maps & directions to all the venues that we required he could not do enough for us. In all the hotel was clean & all the staff were fantastic including a very cheerful Josie in the breakfast room. Will definately return Mr & Mrs Owen room 518, 25th 26th &27th June 2015

Stayed here on two separate at beginning and end of coach trip to Scotland. Nice clean and comfortable room, friendly staff and good food. Why not five stars from me? Haphazard service at dinner - but the hotel was heaving , so perhaps understandable.

We use holiday inn loads of times and in lots of places but this was one of the best. The staff were very, very friendly and helpful and more efficient than most of the chain hotels we use. The room was lovely and exceptionally clean. The wooden screens on the Windows are a revelation. Breakfast was one of the nicest I've had and I love the fact that tea and coffee is still brought to the table instead of the dreadful machines that we seem to have to suffer these days!

First impression of room...... Great! Three quarter size twin beds, choice of pillows, thick mattress on a sprung base. Just what tired visitors need. Meals excellent and staff very helpful. We both slept very well, rested and ready for the days travels. Disappointed we did not come back to this one after our break.
