I regularly work in Preston and needed to stay overnight for meetings and stayed at this IHG hotel. It's a clean and airy building but the room decor could do with a refresh. Minor point because everything else was fine and the bed was very comfortable.

The bar area is cosy and comfortable and the restaurant is good quality and goof value. Breakfast was excellent and once again caused me to cheat on my diet .... Thanks chef!

Will happily stay here again next time I am in Preston and recommend it to anyone looking for a good value central location.

We were part of a coach party on a Coronation Street Tour and were allocated this Holiday Inn.On arrival we all thought o my goodness what are we doing in what looked like a rough area. It,s next to a main Bus station(which could be handy for some).
Once inside we were pleasantly surprised.Lovely big single beds and very comfy. The staff very friendly and Breakfast had a great selection.
Bad Points Shower was only attached to the tap and leaked.
Bed furniture was a bit battered.
Room info stated there was a mini bar. There was a hole where it once may have been.
Net curtains were ripped and had seen better days.
Ideal if staying one night as it was comfy and clean but Could do with some money spent on it.

The hotel looks drab from the road, but impressed inside really really modern.
Well Christmas party night, the dj des grant made the night with his mixture of up to date, oldies etc you name it he played the best of the best, he new how to get you dancing. The seating arrangements for our party well I wasn't impressed, 8 on a round table & 7 on a long table next to each other.staff more or less great! But the food could have been better, chicken starter quite nice not enough salsa, colleagues said tomato & basil soup not so good, turkey ok gravy ok roast spuds dried out & veg mediocre all mixed up together, can't comment on the pork or fish, chocolate cake just ok, can't comment on other desserts. White wine drinkable but colleagues said the rose bit vinegary! Overall good , food could be better to make an even better night. And I do believe it was the same quality in 2010 so nothing has changed, as I was warned in advance by some who attend that year. Take note what was goodish could be great!

The hotel is clean, staff are lovely.
We stayed over for a Chritmas party night, which we enjoyed.
We waited in the bar area paying for our drinks, for 40 minutes longer than we were informed we would be. Once we were eventually seated, our drinks were free (included in the price of the ticket).
The service was extemely slow, so it was late when we eventually ate. A waiter handed out hot plates, asking if we were having turkey or pork, but we were given the same plates ???
The plates were cold by the time the food arrived. Food was ok.

I am a fan of the Holiday Inn brand. It's pretty reliable and always good value for money. Good sized bed, firm mattress and the traditional firm or soft pillows to choose from. The breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful regarding the limited amount of parking on site.

Not much wrong with this hotel. I stayed on a 'rewards night' as I am a Gold member. Checkin was efficient and friendly.

Room was small but clean. Bed comfy but shower a bit lac lustre.

Breakfast had nice of selection, but when we arrived there was a 'fight' as staff member thought it was included and he had to call reception to get approved allowing us to enter.

Maybe it was time we arrived but there were no eggs, beans or hash browns out. They were replaced after 5 - 10 min but was a shame. Also had to track down someone to request coffee. Maybe just an off morning.

Finally on checkout I was presented a bill for over £100 even though room was booked through IHG website direct as a reward booking! A minor thing but it is this lack of detail that makes this hotel an average one.

Holiday Inn Preston was ok for a few days as a base while working away. The room was typical size, bed comfortable with choice of firm or soft pillows. Shower very good. The tea / coffee rations were a bit tight having only 2 of each per day. Breakfast was good with decent selection. Location OK - 2 mins to main town centre.

I stay at this hotel regularly and choose it over the other hotels due to the staff, they are the friendliest and most helpful out of any hotel I have ever stayed at, I have been a regular at other hotels for years but have never been met with the courtesy that the people working at this hotel show. After a very short period of time they have gotten to know me and my little quirks, they will go out of their way to fulfil any request for a regular stayer or a first timer. I recommend this hotel for both business guests and those using as a base for holiday.

Booked in to see a concert at the Guild Hall - only 3 minute walk away. Greeted by a very pleasant, efficient girl on reception who put us in a room away from a tour party that were staying. Nice clean room, everything you need - especially free wifi. Then restaurant staff were also very good and polite, food nice and hot and well prepared. Bar area was tidy and bar staff quick and pleasant also. Terrific value for money.

The hotel was clean & convenient for what we wanted. The beds were comfortable, the staff were all very friendly & the food was quite nice, but the twin room we had was very small, to me it was more like a single room with twin beds.

Parking a little tight. Quality of room was very good. WiFi was a little suspect despite some help fromm reception. Don't have a romantic on the north side unless you like the chimes of the local church to keep you company. Drinks in the bar a little pricey but they did sort us out a coffee to get us going on our journey on Sunday morning.

Had a over night stop . Found this to be a average hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. Was a bit disappointed with the food. And feel this is what let this place down . It was all edible but had no wow to it . Ok place for a night's stay .

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past year.
The staff are all great esepcially Mark who is fantastic. He greets you with a big smile and always goes out his way to provide the best possible service. He goes above and beyond his duties and is a pleasure to deal with.
The hotel is well priced, rooms are great and there is a good variety on the menu.
I highly recommend to all!!

Lovely hotel near shops very busy area. Restaurant well organised, good quality food and the staff were polite and helpful. We could not fault this hotel. Excellent hotel would recommend to freinds and family.

A reunion of old uni friends and this place was fine. Clean, spacious and comfortable. Take care on the roads around it, it was not designed with pedestrians in mind. The breakfast was nice though means you miss some cafe gems in the city.

We were witnesses in a Crown Court case and stayed here for three nights as the hotel is situated over the road from the courts. It's also only 5 mins walk from the centre of town. The hotel is OK and worthy of its rating. The bedroom was a decent size, the bed was comfy and the room and ensuite were clean. When checking in we were made welcome and were again when we went for breakfast. Breakfast was good without being anything special. Can't comment on other meals as we dined out. I guess the biggest downside is the very limited parking at the hotel (although parking is available in the multi storey car park opposite). Good for business stays.

Not five stars, but for a one or two night stopover good value for money. Traveled to Preston for a family wedding and wanted to stay within walking distance of the venue, so to avoid getting taxis. Being in a central location the Holiday inn fitted the bill. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Reasonable washing and showering facilities, Tv, and coffee and tea making facilities, and air conditioning, basically everything you may need for a short stay. They do not do family rooms so I had to have two rooms one for my wife and I, and one for my two sons. Luckily my eldest is 20 years old so was happy for him to share with my 12 year old. But would not have been able to stay there had they been a lot younger. The hotel did put the rooms close together so I could keep an eye on them. A excellent full English breakfast was included in the price, or cereal and toast with a good selection of condiments should you wish for a healthier option. My only real gripe would be, that for a hotel of this size parking is very limited. But overall we had a good stay, helpful and friendly staff.

I frequently stay in Holiday Inns. This one is not the best. Did not have my loyalty card details although these wete provided when booking. Room very small. Room service menu limited. Room was dated and although superficially clean it did not appear fresh. Receptionist was excellent and very helpful.

Not much to report aside from this being your average chain hotel. Clean room, bathroom shortly needs updating but overall okay. My 6th floor room was quiet with a comfy bed. Beer was reasonably priced in the bar as was my 1 night stay.

We stayed as part of an Edwards Coaches group. The double room was adequate and comfortable. The self-serve breakfast was excellent. The evening meal was limited in choice but plenty of veg to accompany the main choice.Staff were polite and efficient.
The location of the Inn,as with many Holliday Inns, is in a commercially built up area and
Is devoid of human movement after working hours except that of heavy traffic on the surrounding ring road. The bar is well stocked but pricey and capitalises on the absence of any nearby pubs. A good choice for a short stay but could get expensive over a week at the bar.

We stayed one night on the way back from Scotland with Shearings. The key cards didn't work in several of the doors and we had to find a member of staff to use the master card.We were 2 floors up although we had requested ground or first floor and we were told to go back to reception to get the card reactivated. I rang down reception to ask if someone could come up as I couldn't manage the stairs again ( I don't use lifts) and was told they were too busy to come up!! We went for dinner at 7pm and the receptionist reactivated our card and several others, why weren't they done earlier ? It was a shambles!! One man was told his lock was broken and they knew about it but still used the room. The evening meal was tasteless and the fudge cake had a peculiar taste so we left it and so did others. Breakfast was o k.
