One of the most beautiful gothic cathedral in West Midlands. I think that the first striking thing that you can notice is the wider and heavy facade, very different from the usual vertically slender gothic. The indoor, in particular the right part of the central nave from the transept door, is characterized by golden decorations and high ogival cross vault. The original cathedral was destroyed during Civil War and so, actually, the architectural style is neo gothic.

It was only a very short (2-3 hours) visit to this lovely town, I was just walking around. On that sunny afternoon it seemed so nice and quiet.

Fantastic architecture, history and atmosphere: plus a range of events organised across the year. But - importantly - a space to relax and reflect without pressure.
