This was a fantastic day out, so much to see and learn. Knowledgeable volunteers added fascinating knowledge to our visit. Graham was about to run a tour but took the time to show us so many more unknown and hidden things to see. Highly recommend.

Went to Cathedral Christmas Light Show, absolutely amazing, well organised. Must say the Police Cadets were so helpful and polite who were "on duty" around the Cathedral grounds, thank you.

Ok first of all what a building, felt generations of human kind sitting along side me, the volunteers were so nice, sermons were more stories so suitable for all. Voices tremendous.
However my fault I didn’t read the information, the second half was better, but i thought it would be a candle lit evening with carols so a little disappointed (the second half did sing some carols) but on the whole not very chrissmassy (as i said my fault) but why no tea or coffee on sale, just beer, pressco and childrens sweets, seemed odd. Next time they ought to serve coffee, tea or even soup. I am glad I went but wouldn't go again but I don't feel I can give a low score as it was my fault.

Fantastic architecture as with all cathedrals of the time, enjoyed my visit, had to go back a little later as part was closed off for a service, but no problem, visited Erasmus Darwin's house in the meantime, dead opposite the main door of the cathedral.

Very disappointed with the 2023 light show. Yes the lights on the West Front and Lichfield Cathedral School were nice but I was so disappointed there was no light show inside the cathedral projected on the walls. The Christmas trees were nice but they were accompanied by a giant series of charity boxes. Even the nativity scenes were nothing special. I viewed the 2021 event online and it looked so much better. I would not go again unless the inside of the cathedral was illuminate£ too.

Never been to this Cathedral before, but have been to many others.
I was greeted as soon as I entered and given an explanation of what was what. I didn’t have time for a guided tour so just wizzed round on my own. I am sure there is some great history, lovely architecture and stained glass windows. There was a very impressive Christmas Tree festival going on, you paid £1.00 to walk around and look at all the trees, you were given a token to vote for your favourite one. There was a nice buzz of people around. A gift shop selling some nice bits and pieces.
If your in the area it’s well worth going into see this historic Cathedral

Nice Cathedral worth a visit

Honestly a very underrated cathedral in England. Not only is it the only three-spired cathedral in the UK, its exterior especially is built with the most attention to detail, and is always a marvel to behold. The statues that cover the entire front side of the cathedral are truly a work of art. The cathedral is never too busy, and the atmosphere inside is always one of respect. Inside, you will be immersed in the halls of this great site of worship, and the sheer architectural genius of the medieval churchmen who made this possible is something I always ponder when staring at the vast columns and arches of the gothic cathedral. Always worth a visit if you're in Lichfield - if not to go inside, at least to marvel from the outside.

Stunning building.
Unfortunately the seating used for the show we attended was very poor for adults. They were like school chairs and linked together which offered very little room.
No toilets available ( you can used toilets very nearby)

Got the tickets for my wife and have to say up until the break we were enjoying the Candlelight Buble show and thought the artist was pretty bang on (remember your not seeing the actual artist at £200 a ticket).

Second show at the Cathedral and learned our lesson regarding temperature within the building at night so wrapped up for this one which was pleasantly warm sitting at the front, sitting at the back by the side door is a different story.

However, the drunken women trying to force people to get up in the second half did take away the shine. Alcohol should be banned from the cathedral.

The cathedral is exactly that, a beautiful 1,000+ year old building, yes the toilets are a 20 metre walk away and it can be cold, but the majesty of the surroundings makes up for this.

Lets face it Lichfield Cathedral is stunning and if it were not for the great help of the kind hearted volunteers and the donations made, it would struggle to stay open I imagine . However, the "in your face" approach by one of the greeters two weekends ago was completely unacceptable. As visitors entered the building she approached them, blocking their pathway, and said "There is no set fee but we do ask for a donation. Would you like to pay by cash or card?" She knew what she was doing, she was putting pressure on people to pay. The card payment machine defaulted to £5 and in order to choose a different amount you had navigate yourself to a different screen.

As it happened I slipped past that woman and donated money at another pay point in the church through choice not pressure..

Poor people should be able to enter the cathedral to pray without being met with confrontational greeters whose skills would be better suited to selling Time Shares in mainland Spain.
