The Cathedral is a wonderful piece of architecture and well worth a visit.
We went to see the recent Imagine Peace exhibition which was a truly spectacular light show. The Cathedral was surrounded by 1918 trees which are going to form a Peace woodland in the local park. The whole exhibition celebrated the hope to follow the silence of the guns at the end of WW1, very moving

This venue is HUGE, impressive in every detail, and "staffed" by knowledgeable volunteers who are always pleasant, charming and happy to help!

The architecture is incredible and (at 1300 years old) this is one of the oldest cathedrals in the country. Its three spires are rare and the carved sculptures, both inside and out, are awe-inspiring and meticulous in detail.

You can spend hours in its magnificence and never cease to be amazed. Too many "Wow!" moments to recall them all. There is a HUGE new crucifix under construction in the nave area where it will be suspended on completion

Wonderful exhibition on at the moment to mark the centenary of the end of WW1

So easy to find from the bus, train or car parking within the city. Flat pedestrianised pathways take you around the river, park and market. Very helpful staff and excellent guides avaiailable or saunter around to your hearts content. Close to lots of cafes, museums and an information centre aswell as a super cathedral gift shop opposite on the green. Ideal for those with walking problems, in a wheelchair or electronic chairs. So much to see at very reasonable prices. Good clear signage for public toilets and lots of seating. A great place to wander around antique and charity shops too.

Didnt have that long to visit but will definitely be returning. Fabulous gothic cathedral on both the outside and the inside. Got lovely welcome form those inside and the building itself is stunning. Need to read up on the history, and get myself back there when I have more time. Free entry but always nice to make a donation.

A great night for all the family. From the display of trees outside that are being moved to Beacon Park later to the light show inside the Cathedral.

Fantastic, immersive experience about the First World War. There is plenty to see and read about. The artists have put together a range of pieces involving light and sound. It was both education and moving. There were a number of opportunities for personal reflection on the meaning of peace. A nice touch at the end is the opportunity to purchase and enjoy a refreshment.

If you go to the service you don't have to pay. You get to hear the mass and see the church inside.. beautiful place for sure not just the church but the town festival. Go and see it for yourself.

Visiting here is very peaceful, not the hustle of better known cathedrals. It is not far to walk from car parking.

Image Peace Exhibition is really worth visiting. The volunteers were genuinely welcoming and considerate. I liked the community involvement and the ways visitors were asked to contribute and interact. Quiet places for reflection.... do visit the Chapter House with the falling leaves. To sit on the floor of the nave and experience the light and sound show was thrilling. Kids will love this, but my 80 year old Mum, did too!
Well done artist in residence and the whole team. Great job. Well done!
