Visited the Cathedral over the Christmas period. No charge for entrance but we always donate. There is a very spectacular piece of art , 20,000 paper doves hanging in the air produced by 75 schools in the area. Also a Christmas tree exhibition if you purchase a token for £1 you are able to vote for your chosen tree.Well worth a visit over the Christmas festivities.

A wonderful Cathedral to spend time in and enjoy it's architecture and stained glass windows. They currently have an art installation of thousands of white paper doves cut out by local school children and hung above the central aisle. The main part of the cathedral is accessible to those in wheelchairs. The cathedral is free to enter , you will find donation boxes placed around the cathedral for donations which are appreciated because the day to day running costs are astronomical.

The stone heads part way up the walls are remarkably individual, and mostly in excellent condition. The exception is those at the East end, where I understand they suffered from Cromwell's soldiers using them to sharpen their swords during the Civil War

I am averse to all/any religion on a personal basis, but appreciation of this outstanding piece of architecture requires no beliefs/cults/affiliations. It is not only impressive, it is extremely well kept and maintained, and I was also very encouraged to see that this beautiful building was being used on a regular basis by many different types of community groups for many different kinds of activities. This soothed my soul and my need to see this type of building serving the people as opposed to the people serving the building.

Really lucky to have such a place in Lichfield, a truly beautiful cathedral, inside and out. If you're only in the area for a short time then do go and visit. If you live here then it's a place that you definitely should have been to.

Setting up for concert at front, stage & lightning being done on out visit.

Back of the cathedral has a display of poems by Wilfred Owen & drawings by Denis May depicting the poems.

Building is beautiful to admire inside & outside.

Kids area to left hand side turning in a small room, it is set up with chairs, books, colouring things.

The smaller upper chapel on the right hand side was open, had to climb about 20 steps up to it, nice view overlooking the aisle below.

Stain glass windows are lovely.

St Chads shrine towards front of church.

On left hand side some old faces found below the cathedral which were part of the previous old church that was used as building rubble in the current church.

A great place to visit & admire.

Small gift shop to front of Cathedral.

Me and my girlfriend attended the Poppy fields display and we both thought it was amazing.

The entrance was efficiently organised and the display itself was beautiful and somber remembering the people who didn't come back from the carnage of war.

I would recommend any one to come here and the display was made more better as it was held in a beautiful setting
