Great little zoo for the kids. Splash park, dinosaur park and the lion and lionesses, tiger really got the kids going wow! It's not too big and doesn't have all the wild animals that's kids tend to look out for - elephant, giraffes, hippos etc. lots of coffee cafes and ice creams to enjoy. Parking on site is free.

Went yesterday (25/5/24) for the first time. 4 kids and 2 adults and we had the best time. The whole place is really amazing, not as many animals as other zoos but you can see all the animals without a problem, it wasn’t heaving with people and some parts were really quiet and very serene. All in all it was a cracking day out and there is lots to do for all ages. Will definitely be going again and was definitely worth the hour and half trip to get there.

We went today with three 5 year olds ,
They absolutely loved it ,
The park is really lovely and well looked after , the animals look good too .
The beach area was a great way to cool off ( don’t forget your towels , we did )
The only negative is it was a hot day and very busy , there isn’t much shaded areas to sit and eat lunch . Lots of picnic tables in the park but they don’t have parasols .
We would definitely come again .

Absolutely wonderful day out. There is so much to do that we spent the whole day and still need to go back as we didn't cover it all

Love this zoo, always clean and the animals look cared for. I would advise arriving early as car parking can be an issue after a certain time. There is an overflow carpark, but it is crossing a large fast road. Loads of stands or places to eat, but having a family of 5 - it gets expensive, so would advise packing a lunch and maybe getting an ice cream as a treat. A couple of play areas, soft play and a little splash park as well which means you could really spend the entire day there 😊 we go a couple of times a year and it's a family favourite at the moment x

All in all it is okay. Disagree with how small the enclosures are for majority of the animals. Im sure these cages can be made bigger given the prices they charge for entering and food/drink, it is really quite devastating to see animals in enclosures this size. I would recommend you going if you don’t care about the tiny enclosures these animals are in.

Fun day out at a nice park with cute animals in a fairly well laid out park.
The snow leopard spoilt us by posing right in front of the glass which out did any goal I had today 😁
Good food services at not bad prices considering.
While I'm certainly no child I could see them loving the zoo, especially the Dino park

First time visit and very impressed. Scary dinosaur park was impressive, wonderful collection of stunning animals, kiddies enjoyed the play parks and splash area. Plenty of loo's. Easy to walk around and with a buggy. Foody places plentiful and two placed with views of the bears and tiger! Staff happy and helpful.

Fantastic Family Day Out at Hertfordshire Zoo!

My family and I visited Hertfordshire Zoo on a sunny warm day and had an incredible experience from start to finish. Arriving around 11am, parking was a breeze with friendly staff guiding us to overflow when necessary. We were pleasantly surprised to find no long queues at the gates.

The zoo itself is well-kept and maintained, offering something for everyone. With my 16-month-old daughter, 12-year-old son, my partner's 9-year-old daughter, and her parents, it truly catered to the entire family. Informational spots were plentiful, allowing us to learn while having fun.

The highlight for our children was undoubtedly the Dinosaur park, which provided a magical and unique experience. The staff were not only friendly but incredibly informative. When my daughter inquired about the constant plant watering, a staff member took the time to explain its importance and even offered to involve her in the process.

We made full use of the on-site facilities, from restaurants to little shacks, and especially enjoyed the well-maintained splash park. Overall, Hertfordshire Zoo provided us with a memorable day out filled with fun, learning, and friendly faces. Highly recommended for families looking for a fantastic day of adventure!

Excellent wildlife park especially for disabled. So user friendly. Have been very many times. Disappointed last time we went as poured with rain the whole time and as we had already bought tickets we had to go. Even though never wanted money back did ask if can have a bit of a discount on next visit and was told no.
