Fantastic zoo, everywhere looking pristine , lovely native species area , well thought out. The enclosure amazing especially utilising a 3D landscape height width and so on instead of just the ground. New area looking good as well. Keepers were all amazing

Was a great experience for the kids alot of different play areas scattered around the park to break up the day.

The talks were very informative and great fun for the kids to see all the different animals and learn about them.

Lots of food stalls around and not overly priced either with a small soft play area near the entrance which is ideal for younger kids to enjoy.

A really great day out for the younger kids I'd say aged between 5-12 years old

Loved this zoo. Small so doable in a few hours, animals look well looked after and there's two play parks and soft play!

There is an abundance of fun and adventure to be had, particularly when it comes to spending precious time with family. The natural beauty of the surroundings is beautifully maintained, and I truly appreciate that. Additionally, the freedom that animals enjoy to roam wherever they like is something special; it’s a refreshing change from the confines of a cage. This reflects a genuine care for their well-being, and it's heartwarming to witness.❤️❤️

Had a lovely day out, with a fantastic chat with Zookeeper Simon about the animals here, conservation, and veterinary interventions to keep animals as healthy and comfortable as possible

Good fun. Nice variety of animals and plenty of viewing points so you can usually find them eventually. Was impressed to see the talks etc still going on despite it being a dreary Monday with not that many punters about.

Good selection of animals however I would say for the price it’s definitely not worth it and too expensive for such a small place. You’re better off saving your money to go somewhere else that’s a larger or bigger but it’s a good day out but definitely not for £75 for 3 people. Especially when you go there to see certain animals and it closed because they’re preparing it for something else. A bit disappointing I think it would be great if the price was a lot cheaper and maybe it would make it better.

It was a lovely time with lots of presentations and a great variety of animals! Loved the tiger and managed to hear some lion roars.
The dinosaur section took us by surprise, I wasn't expecting them to move.

We visited Hertfordshire Zoo as we had purchased a junior zookeeper experience for ourselves and our children.

This is not our first visit, we have been many times over the years and it has never disappointed. On this visit we had a fabulous day out and we were impressed as always by the choice of areas to visit and the condition of the zoo and especially with the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff we encountered.

Ann greeted us in the HQ/experience centre and she was lovely - so friendly and welcoming. She explained how it would all work and that we would be meeting our zookeeper shortly and made sure we were comfortable whilst we waiting by making us drinks and showing us a video about the zoo and how it all started. We also spoke with a lovely lady called Maisy who chatted to us and asked the children what animals they were most hoping to visit during the experience.

The zookeeper assigned to us for our experience was Vivienne and she was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable about the animals and shared facts and information whilst showing us what to do and getting us involved with the care of the animals we attended too. We were advised at the point of booking that the animals you get to help with varies and depends on the day. We were very lucky to help with the following... a Tortoise, Otters, Reptiles and the penguins. The penguins were the highlight for us, we were able to hand feed them fish which was incredible. Evan was in charge of the penguins and he was brilliant, so knowledgeable and full of fun.

Before and after our experience we also went round the rest of the zoo animals as well as visiting the outdoor play area, having lunch, going round the Dino area and riding the train. Overall we had a fabulous day out and cant recommend Hertfordshire Zoo highly enough!

I have 2 toddlers, 2 and 3 and they both love it - especially the dinosaur area. It was extremely busy for March and expensive for what was there. The lion area and some bird cages was closed and you couldn’t see a lot of animals.

The range of animals available to see is better than other zoos which is good.

I will say to get into the zoo it is a long walk from the car park but there’s nothing that can happen about that but the food was noticeable expensive especially compared to other zoos / days out nearby.

We had a fantastic day out at Hertfordshire Zoo. We went mid-week on a Monday and is was lovely and quiet, I Imagine it gets very busy during peak season and weekends. There is a large Dinosaur Park section at the start suitable for young children along with a play area then you progress into the main part of the Zoo which houses all the animals. We ate at the eatery close to the entrance/exit of the park, it was a quick serve cafe - food good quality and speedy service, large portion size which was nice. I would recommend this zoo to anyone interested ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
