First time back since lock down. Quiet and plenty of one way directions. Still plenty to see and do despite a few attractions being closed. Lots of outdoor play areas and picnic spots.

Enjoyable as ever! Shame we didnt know upfront that the Tiger exhibit is closed..but the dinosaurs made up for it! One way system works well (idiots aside). Great to be able to be back to support Paradise :)

It is hard to tell whether the experience wasn't great because of certain parts being closed due to covid, renovation or the weather which was not the best, but there was little to see and do and I doubt we will be back any time soon. Most animals were just hiding, quite a bit was closed or blocked so that you couldn't walk around. And social distancing, especially among kids was non existent.
There was also not much to eat, especially if you want something vegetarian. The only available hot vegetarian food was chips.
Let's just say that the best thing we liked were the dinosaurs, not the zoo part.

I’ve been here before, a few months before lockdown and have been keen to return so ignored the bad reviews and headed back this weekend - booked tickets!!

Firstly, if you park at the back car park (where you have to cross the main road) it’s not one way, so you won’t be social distancing. Once in, it is clearly marked, there is a one way system. Unfortunately, some families weren’t following these (mainly in the Dinosaur Park bit). The larger areas (near the Keepers HQ Building) aren’t one way but use common sense if you want to distance from others.

The kids area (before you enter the animals) was manic, kids everywhere and parents weren’t social distancing and didn’t appear to have an issue!! That was their choice, I went with my teenage son so this area wasn’t an issue for us.

The food huts were open (restaurant wasn’t), these were open and busy but we arrived at lunch time.

Toilets were clean. I used the facilities twice, both were clean, however, I did take extra hygiene care although there was hand gel stations everywhere and were visible. At no point did I feel like I was at risk.

Plenty and clear signs asking you not to touch glass but parents were allowing their kids to touch glass anyway, again, their choice but I saw a keeper cleaning the glass on the lion enclosure so I’m happy to say that they are taking extra hygiene steps.

The viewing platforms were open and if you used common sense and waited people moved on to allow you to look. Your all there for the same thing at the end of the day.

The only let down for me was the Big Cat enclosure. The viewing platform was closed and we were unable to see any of the ‘cats’. There wasn’t as many penguins as the first time I visited and only 2 meerkats out - it may have been poor timing on my behalf.

I would recommend going, but give it a few weeks if you have smaller children and concerned about current situation. They need to have fun but have fun safely.

After reading all of the bed reviews, I was feeling nervous for our long awaited visit, it was the great reviews that made us book in the first place, previously.

We arrived ahead of time and it was a clear direct route to get to from where we travelled.

I messaged ahead to see if the water area would be open and the government had not okay’d it at this point, therefore, we knew not to bring wet clothes... Check, it will help to avoid any disappointment?

We brought our own cool box, left it in the boot for lunch and it was easy enough to get out to the car and back in again after, if you are trying to be healthy as I am. Plenty of benches to eat at, plenty of green space, I’d even go so far as to suggest a picnic blanket.

The park animals are on another level to any other park I have been to. I am trying to think of a comparison but I can’t. Definitely worth a visit and defiantly worth the price. We travelled over an hour and a half and we were not disappointed. It’s not just a zoo or a safari, or a play area, it’s all of that and more actually. One snag, the tigers were settling into their new habitat and so they were not seen, not a great issue as my son states he wants to come back ‘tomorrow’ ha! We went around the dinosaurs twice as my son found his confidence, he is young.

Would have been nice to have had a peep into the discovery centre - it was shut for obvious reasons I am sure.

Would have been nice to know feeding times of the animals - I hadn’t asked and they were not given to me either.

If I’d fix anything I’d say you must invest in new toilets, it would make the park. Having said this, you can sanitise your hands everywhere around the park, which is fabulous, considering the current climate we face.

Amazing day had by the both of us, we shall return - Amazing staff. Thanks everyone.
