Never having been to Guernsey before we were a bit green about the hotel standards. Would we have chosen badly?
Totally wrong. We could not have chosen better. The Pierre Park is great.
From the minute of our arrival the staff could not do more for us. Reception was very warm and immediately put you at ease going through the hotel facilities. Nice touch was a personal letter welcoming us. The room was spacious with a big bathroom. It had a lovely view of the grounds, which are extensive, backing on to the golf course. The hotel going thru a facelift but this is very discreet. No bother.
Flat screen TV,safe, robes, lovely toiletries, tea making facilities and a small fridge with fresh water daily. Only 1 wee point to make. The bedside lights are a bit bright and tend to keep your partner awake if you are reading. Beds are comfy and to get 3 pillows is a nice touch. Housekeeping is of a very high quality.
Breakfast is very extensive with as well as a buffet of cold and ready cooked you can also have specials prepared at no extra cost. You can also have it in your room.
We try to opt for a spa and in choosing this hotel we could quite simply not have had better. Top quality throughout. Good changing room latest showers, good sized pool, sauna ,steam room, gym and a luxurious hot tub. We made full use of the fabulous facilities. We had massages from the excellent spa staff in gorgeously calming surroundings in a very relaxed atmosphere.
We had a latish flight on our check out day but we continued to use the spa till we left for the airport. As it was Sunday we had lunch in the hotel carvery. Top notch food well prepared and presented. Again the staff were attentive and discreet.
All in all we had a fantastic time on our first trip to Guernsey and this hotel cannot be beat in our opinion. Will we return? Try stopping us.

Lovely hotel and Spa facilities Very friendly staff and lovely food with a choice of restaurants & Bars to eat in, even if you do not go down to st. Peters Port. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Well worth a visit even if,like us, you don't play Golf

Had a 4 night midweek break during October half-term. Guernsey is beautiful but be aware that some attractions, cafes, etc have closed for the season or have limited opening hours. This hotel was clean and comfortable, the food was plentiful, hot and tasty and good value for money in comparison to other restaurants. The staff could not be better, pleasant, helpful and professional. We didn't use the pool, golf course or spa facilities as we were too busy exploring the lovely island(and Herm). We will on or next visit. The hotel is well located within easy reach of all parts of the island and the grounds were lovely.

My husband went to Guernsey for a few days work and I tagged along with my 10 week old daughter. The hotel and room were superb and this would have undoubtedly been a 5 if not for the irritating pool rules about when children could go in and the snooty woman on spa reception. All other staff were friendly, approachable and very attentive. The restaurant and room service were great and we had a lovely holiday.

Stayed for three days with family including baby grandson. We experienced very friendly, pleasant and helpful staff throughout our stay. We noticed a significant improvement in this regard and an also in the condition of the hotel since our previous visit last year. The new Spa is fantastic, especially the outdoor jacuzzi. Lovely grounds and views. A very nice hotel and a great base from which to visit the island.

Really liked this place. Staff all very friendly and helpful, like a family-run hotel. Gym is very good and only four months old. Decent bar, good variety on the menu and the stuff I had was nice. Didn't use the golf course but great thing to have on your doorstep. An easy five out of five.

This hotel cannot be faulted on the location, gardens, sports facilities or pool. It is situated just outside St Peter Port, opposite Waitrose, and on a regular and frequent bus route. Anyone flying in would easily be able to get round the island sightseeing by public transport. We took the car over on the ferry from Poole, and there was extensive parking available. The hotel is set right back from the road, in beautiful grounds including a large lake, tennis courts and children's playgrounds, next to a large golf course, and there is no traffic noise at all - in fact, there was no noise audible at any time of the day or night, ensuring a really good nights sleep. I can recommend the executive rooms overlooking the gardens, with large balconies to sit out on. In October, many seasonal staff leave and the new staff were just starting, so there were a few training issues, which is why I have only given 3stars for service. These should all be resolved in a few weeks, and we will definitely be going back!

i stayed for a few nights in October and opted for an Executive room in think they call it after a bad experience with the cheaper room on an earlier stay.
rooms were clean but do seem a little dated, not too much of an issue for me though!
bathroom fairly modern and a nice powerful shower, wifi good in the room too.
I didn't use the restaurant as I eat out with clients but I did use the pool and health club...WOW its great, top gym equipment, weights rooms and the pool area had been updated too, new steam room and sauna and a nice outside hottub :-)
having not been a fan of this hotel due to previous visits I am converted and will probably stay here a lot more for business, rooms could be updated further but who spends a lot of time in the room anyway, only issue for me was that If I was hot in the night I would have had to sleep with the patio door open on to a balcony where other guest have access...but it wasn't an issue this time of year.
overall a nice stay and I will probably see you again :-)

Had a lovely weekend at the St. Pierre. The service was relaxed and professional throughout. We loved the new spa, and had an excellent massage - highly recommended. Superb food, too. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Guernsey.

We needed a base for a full week whilst undertaking a scoping project of Guernsey and the smaller islands.
The hotel staff welcomed us in earlier than the check in time to make sure we could leave our bags etc whilst we went to our first meeting.
The staff in any area of the hotel couldn't possibly be more polite or genuinely trying to do everything they could to make the stay as comfortable as possible.
The room was spotless, the hotel is very quiet at night and the bed was one of the best I have ever slept in.
What a joy of a hotel - can't fault it!

Recently spent 5 days at the hotel with my wife and elderly mother in law, who needed gluten free diet. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, the customer service was spot on. The reception staff knew that my mother in law required a gluten free diet and were to reassure us that her needs would be met.

The rooms were very comfortable and nicely appointed, with tea and coffee making facilities. If we made tea or coffee before dinner, clean cups were provided as part of the turn down service.

The meals in the hotel were excellent. For breakfast, there was a 'free from' section where my mother in law could get gluten free cereals and bread. If required, she could also have gluten free toast. Personally I enjoyed the excellent full English breakfast, though sometimes I had to wait for fresh fried eggs to be produced, as they were left under a heat lamp over cooking the yolks.

As we stayed half board, we ate in the Victor Hugo restaurant each night of our stay. For the half board, we could either eat from the set menu, which was changed daily, or put our money from the set menu towards something from the A la carte menu and pay the difference. For the majority of the time, we ate from the set menu. Generally, there was a good choice of gluten free options on the set menu, for my mother in law to choose from.
There were a couple of evenings where there was no choice of a gluten free option, on these occasions, my mother in law was allowed to substitute a dish from the a la carte menu at no extra cost. Also there was one evening, where a gluten free option was listed on the set menu. My mother in law requested the gluten free option for this dish, only to be told that the chef had made a mistake and the dish was not gluten free. 5 minutes later after ordering another gluten free dish, the waiter came back to us saying that the chef was "mortified" by their mistake, and was able to adapt the dish to make it gluten free. A dish my mother in law enjoyed.

All the dishes I ate at the restaurant were very good apart from the lemon meringue pie. Whilst the lemon part of the dish was full of lemon flavour and not too sweet, the pastry bottom was a bit soggy and the meringue was soft and not stiff as a meringue should be. Minor quibble

The location of the hotel was very convenient, as we had a hire car and there was plenty of parking at the hotel.

One of my other bug bears is the performance of the hotel Wifi. No complaints here though. It was free throughout the hotel and I had good connection speed.

So would I stay at this hotel again? Yes I would. It's a good choice for both the tourists wanting a relaxing break and the business traveller staying there for work purposes who needs to connect with office.

A very relaxing stay at this hotel. Excellent food in the restaurant served by a very attentive staff. The whole experience cannot be recommended too highly. The only slight downside is a lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms.

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast.
A little bit tired in some parts- our bedroom carpet was stained- but generally good and very good value for money.
Spa- newly refurbished- very good.
Gardens were nice.
Can recommend and would go again.

From start to finish, this hotel was lovely. The girls on reception were lovely and very accommodating. The staff in the terrace bar were so friendly and welcoming and went over and above to ensure a pleasant experience. Our room was a decent size and even had space for a cot with a lovely view looking over the green. The room was very clean and didn't want for anything and came with a decent sized bathroom, tea/coffee, desk, TV, mini fridge etc. The swimming pool and other facilities were fantastic and catered for both families (allotted times) as well as everyone else. As a first trip away within 11-month old I had concerns about affecting the experience of others but I must admit that I never once felt any issue with bringing my little girl anywhere in the hotel. I cannot commend them enough, in particular those working in the terrace bar. It was a wonderful experience and a wonderful stay. We will be back

We stayed for 8 days and it has to be said that the facilities are first class and the chef outstanding.

However, with all the best intentions of the management (and Daniel was exceptional) the service was often utterly miserable as were most of the younger staff (with one or two notable exceptions..well done Tim)

From the off, every meal, whether it was in the bar or the restaurant, was delivered at snails pace and on one occasion, having spent nearly two hours getting to the point of the cheese board which was being presented to us as an apology for the slow service the night before, when it had not arrived in 25 minutes, we gave up and left for our room.

The next evening the complimentary cheese board did arrive in good time......but they charged us for it. (Great cheese board though!)

Breakfast on the first day and it took nearly 40 minutes and two reminders for kippers only to be told the chef was rather busy preparing for a wedding! (Did I want to know that?)

Having said that, every one of the meals we had was exceptional and that included room service, the terrace and the pavilion.

I have to say also that the better wines (particularly the 2000 Clarets) were excellent value and made the long waits for the food bearable.

With a leisure centre to die for, a 9 hole golf course and tennis courts all there, one is not going to be short of games and being pampered.

I'd certainly stay here again and I have no doubt the service will improve but when I am eating in the terrace bar with 6 other groups all having to listen to some very loud South African guests and their child, it is no wonder people started to wander out when four waiters and bar staff found more entertainment in chatting amongst themselves than serving us our meals and drinks.

When I say the food was exceptional I really do mean it. The menu seems simple but trust me that even a lamb steak was outrageously good with marvellous attention to the sides which are normally an afterthought these days but each one we tried was cooked to perfection and with imagination. I don't eat pork but the rack of ribs was so good that I went for that option on two occasions.

The older staff were just better and knew their job well and with a myriad of problems creeping in as our stay went on, we learned to approach the grey hairs to get things sorted.

The great weakness (and probably the only one) in the culinary arena was that the bread was awful both at dinner and breakfast and something needs to be done about this. Square flat pack toast and rubbish rolls with a fine meal are a travesty and the almost arrogant attitude of the breakfast waiters when we asked them to slice a granary loaf to make wedgy brown toast became quite a laughable experience over the week.

And I think that summed up the stay really. It is a fantastic place that will need much updating in the rooms over the next couple of years but the experience was spoiled by too many staff who did not want to be serving us (and it showed) and frankly did not have a clue how to go about it in the first place.

Too many camps and not enough communication and competence.

I look forward to an improvement for our next stay and let us be clear that overall, this place gets my vote over all other hotels I have experienced on Guernsey.

It would just be better to see a bit more attention to our simple needs (mainly to be fed before we die of starvation) and to feel that all the staff are Working as a team with some sense that they are enjoying the job.

I have to go for excellent because the truth is that everything apart from the service was damned good and with a week or more to while away the time you can live with this but if I had been staying one or two nights I think I would have been crawling up the walls and my overall mark would not be so generous.

Have just returned from Guernsey after a 6 night break. Booked the St Pierre Park on a b&b basis.

Lots of choice at breakfast to suit all tastes. Staff polite, friendly, and welcoming.

Lovely room with a balcony and table with two chairs so we could both sit outside. Room overlooked the gardens. We were on the ground floor, otherwise known as reception level. There were bedrooms on the level below, on the garden side of the hotel due to the hillside location. Room was quiet even though there were functions taking place during our stay.

Extensive bar menu with food served from breakfast right through to 11.00 p.m.

This hotel is about 1 mile outside of St Peter Port but is on a good bus route on the main east/west route across the island.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, and would certainly book again if I return to Guernsey in the future.

I have just git married and my wife and I had the great pleasure to have our reception at this lovely hotel in St. Peter Port.

The hotel has just had a full make over and looks wonderfully smart and very clean and tidy.

The food at our reception was a 3 course buffet which offered great choice and was wonderfully prepared and presented.

The staff as you would expect from a hotel of this quality were first rate and very professional, polite and helpful.

We stayed in a suite which was absolutely gorgeous with its own mini kitchen, lounge area, lovely big bed and a patio with its own jacuzzi very nice indeed.

And would be a great room for any occasion or romantic get together.

In the morning we had a champagne breakfast again smartly and very professionally down.

All in all a wonderful hotel no faults at all as far as I could see and a pleasure to stay.

I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Of course it's not a budget hotel or anything near it but you pay for what you get and what we got was wonderful and memorable and that's good enough for me and my wife.

Would happily stay at this wonderful hotel anytime.

Guernsey is very difficult for a disabled visitor. I have family in Guernsey so have to visit. St Pierre Park is the best hotel I have visited over the years. Gardens & lake are not accessible by mobility scooter hired from St. John's @ £58 pw.as dropped kerbs are not a priority anywhere in Guernsey or their hotels? But things have got better over the years. St Pierre is now owned by hand picked hotels & is undergoing upgrades but @ no disadvantage to guests!indeed if they have bookings for events that might disturb you the make you aware that they will move you so that will not be disturbed overnight if you wish! The staff are all exceptionally helpful in reception Terrace bar & Victor Hugo!everywhere really!
Breakfast is always high standard plentiful & well attended by waiters ! This hotel for me is great ! I can recommend The Sunday Carvery in Victor Hugo! Thankyou St Pierre for another lovely 5day break !

Very warm and welcoming, the wet facilities were very good and were modern. Our room was very clean and was nicely decorated. Breakfast was extremely nice. When we ordered breakfast to our room it was 25 minutes late and one piece food was missing. But they did apologise which we thought was very kind. They informed us on tourist attractions around the island. Overall it was a good stay.

First time to this hotel and weren't disappointed set in lovely grounds the hotel was clean and welcoming with helpful and friendly staff. Our room was clean and comfortable with lovely views over the grounds. It was lovely to enjoy having breakfast looking over the lake. The breakfast was a buffet style system which was really nice and offered lots of choices so you could as little or as much as you wanted without waste. We did eat from the evening menu twice which was also very nice but we felt that the menu could have possibly offered a little more choice.I also enjoyed using the lovely swimming pool most enjoyable after a long day.

Our rooms were large with good toiletries comfy bed plenty of pillows and large towels. Most of all the staff were wonderful especially the Romanian guy in charge in the restaurant. So helpful and polite but all the staff were the same, nothing too much trouble and they always seemed to working from early to late and smiling! The Management should commend them all. We had a great time and the catering was also excellent.

This hotel is in a good position, some 1 miles from the port. Buses are £1 each way from outside the hotel. There is a Waitrose across the road, very handy.
The hotel has a lovely view from the breakfast room, across the lake with fountain, ducks and a resident heron watching the fish.
Our room was lovely, well equipped, comfortable beds, very clean. Breakfast was one of the best we have had, so many choices and food was top quality.
We did not have time to use the swimming pool etc.
The only reason I have not given it top marks is because of the noisy slamming bedroom doors.

Decided to go to guernsey for a short break with a fairly late booking. Liked the look of this hotel and decided that I would like to try out the new spa.
I stayed in a junior suite which had a good sized balcony with chairs and sunlounger available and a personal hot tub. The hot tub was very nice and convenient to use.
Otherwise room was great, with nice size and facilities. Only downside was the bed had a split bed put back together and you could feel the join.
Spa was excellent, I only used the pool, sauna, jacuzi and steam room, whole are is brand new and looked and felt it, great fit and finish. Jacuzzi is outdoors on a nice decked area overlooking the gardens.
I ate in hotel once for evening meal and food was of good quality and we'll cooked. Breakfasts where very good and set you up for the day.
Staff friendly all round but bar staff could be a bit more attentive, I noticed a couple of times slight problems with service.
Would I come back, yes I would.

Hotel is gorgeous in a great location. The newly renovated health club and spa is absolutely superb.

The room was great. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful with nothing too much trouble.

Ate a couple of times in the Terrace Café Bar and the food was very good as were the breakfasts

Such a relaxing and enjoyable break that if we go to Guernsey again, this will definitely be our first choice.
