Hotel is very comfortable, and feels relaxed. Feel like I could stay there alone and feel comfortable. Loved it and will be back!

We had a fantastic stay at The Fermain Valley Hotel. It is in a beautiful location and has great views of the valley and the sea. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very well appointed with a great view. All the staff who served us while we were there were very friendly, helpful and efficient. We have stayed at a number of Hand Picked Hotels and the quality of staff is an over-riding theme throughout. The Fermain Valley team certainly upheld the high standards we have come to appreciate.

We had a very comfortable room with a balcony overlooking the patio area. A quiet location well back from the traffic so one could hear the birds in the morning. The room had plenty of storage space and there was a wide surface area in the bathroom to lay out your toiletries. Excellent breakfast with a choice of menu and buffet offerings and the tea room provided a choice of delicious cakes, teas and coffees. The staff at the front desk gave us a warm welcome at check-in and throughout our stay, all of the staff were friendly. The shuttle from the ferry and to the airport was appreciated.

Unfortunately, our experience at the Buho Restaurant was totally unsatisfactory and tainted our overall impression of the hotel. Our party of eight waited well over an hour for our meal to arrive and only after one of us sought out staff to complain–my dinner arrived burnt as it seemed to have been sitting on the grill too long and another’s was cold. The next table of two arrived half an hour after we did and were finished their main course and onto dessert before ours even arrived. Their excuse was they were busy, but if they can’t serve people, don’t seat them.

Stay for a week in this very nice and quiet hotel. The staff is very friendly and attentive to guests. Comfortable hotel, fresh produce cuisine. Various breakfasts and hearty and delicious also. A nice well-flowered and pleasant park.

Does not deserve its 4 stars, due to services and comfort. Certainly, a large room, without mini bar, view on a roof, certainly you can see the sea, and the garden.
No cotton disc removing makeup on the 1st and the 2nd, but the 3rd.
A leak on the shower hose.
Impact in the bathtub.
Traces of rust around the bathtub.
Power outlets very poorly distributed,
The windows. CANNOT be very covered because they are blocked, so no air.
The bar of the restaurant is deserted by the staff, so by the customers.
Regularity in breakfast service. Too few choices in direct access.
As for the restaurant Steak House, we were not talking about it. The desert in desserts, friendly and competent female staff the rest does not listen and not attentive. On the kitchen side, it’s bof...
Ambiance bof bof

Rooms were a good size and very clean.
Lovely beach at bottom of hill, with a great cafe. Worth the walk back up.

A good hotel with great staff and a very good breakfast.
However don’t book room 38. Classified as a classic double but wouldn’t agree! No fan, no mini fridge, not flooded with light ,no bath with shower over it, window doesn’t give much light and can’t open properly due to the blind attachment. We had to keep the blind closed as the sun shone in there most of the day making the room incredibly hot. Very difficult to spend time in the room even at night due to this heat.
If you are disabled room 24 was good. We were moved to this room. It was much bigger, a proper classic double but still had to have a fan and mini fridge added!
We would particularly like to mention Anne who helped us change rooms and was very caring.
The rooms were kept very clean , praise to the staff.
The entrance/exit to the car park needs to be looked at. A mirror on the wall opposite ,angled to see up and down the very narrow road outside, needs to be added.

This hotel was booked for our golden wedding anniversary. We room we booked is the largest and most luxurious in the hotel. It’s beautiful. Room 12!

The furnishings are lovely with a pleasant mix of new with old. The 6ft bed is very comfortable with a topper and good bed linen and pillows. Lovely big bathroom with super soft towels.

The view from the room is stunning. Although there is no balcony, the full length windows, especially in the bay, gave the illusion of being outside. Very relaxing sitting on the sofa looking out to sea.

Breakfast was good but I was disappointed that the hotel had failed to take notice of my food allergy even though I had booked two months in advance! As a result I was limited in my choice from the breakfast bar. However, I did not go hungry as the cooked breakfasts are extremely good.

The service in the hotel is very good, the staff are efficient, polite, friendly but very professional and attentive.

We only ate once in the evening in the Rock Garden restaurant, I thought the food expensive and was a little disappointed in the quality of the meals we had.

All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. The hotel very kindly surprised us with a lovely gift of some ‘goodies’ to celebrate our anniversary! Much appreciated!

In a quiet spot, out of town, but with good bus links to centre of St Peter Port. Very steep access, but less steep using 2nd floor door through garden to main road. Useful free shuttle available on certain days for town.
Only complaint is that there needs to be more advance information about the dining facility. On arrival we were told that the kitchen was closed on certain days and that we had to walk to the co-owned nearby Mexican restaurant for evening meals.

Guernsey has officially become our go-to holiday spot , third year in a row now! It’s just such a beautiful island, we’re absolutely in love with it. We stayed at Fermain Valley Hotel last summer too and once again it didn’t disappoint. Its exactly how we remembered : warm, welcoming, and just lovely all around. All the staff were incredible and so helpful. Big shoutout to Kashia at reception and the team in the Rock Restaurant – just amazing and such a credit to the team. The food was really good too, great quality and of course brilliant service to match. Same goes for the breakfast crew and the lovely people in the tea room – everyone made us feel so well looked after.

Huge thanks to the whole team for making our stay excellent again. We’re already planning our next visit!

We had a wonderful weeks’ family holiday at Fermain Valley Hotel! The staff were so kind and accommodating. Our kids were super excited about their own little robes, and very kindly the cuddly toys gifted to them.
We loved the location, the views, the breakfasts (amazing), and the pool was fab too. We ended up using it 3 times! It truly felt like a luxury break.
I read in a previous review someone had said the rooms were too warm - we had no issue with this as we just turned the radiators down. Someone else complained that only the full English was worth eating at breakfast - we would disagree. All options were lovely.
The gardens are gorgeous - the walk down to Fermain beach is idyllic.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to family or friends.

We had a fantastic stay at the Fermain Valley hotel to celebrate my wifes birthday. We had a Classic Room in the main hotel which was excellent and very comfortable. It is in a great location and not too far from the centre or the beach. The hotel has excellent facilities including a fabulous breakfast menu which is superbly presented. One additional and really great feature is the provision of a driver to collect you from the airport, drop offs down in the centre etc and is a real bonus and greatly appreciated. The main key feature of this hotel is the wonderful staff; from Reception, to the waiters, drivers etc - all were fantastic and always so very helpful and engaging. We believe they make this hotel such a wonderful place to stay. The reception staff also provided me with lots of information and advice prior to our arrival which also contributed so much to our short stay. We have always found the Hand Picked Hotels group hotels to be very good but this one will always stand out for us and we would definitely return. Thank you again to you all for a wonderful stay.

Hotel is very well situated, staff are amazing, room was lovely and everywhere very clean. The breakfast was very good with plenty of options to suit everyone. I had two concerns, the first being the mattress was very hard and I couldn’t sleep. I asked reception for an extra topper and it was done that day. My other issue was that unfortunately we had a beautiful deluxe room but it was right underneath a family room with children running around and wardrobe doors slamming. I hadn’t realised this and when I checked with reception I was told it was the family room. Avoid room 15 in future!!! I did ask if we could move to room 14 but was told it wasn’t available. We weren’t offered an alternative.

The hotel is located at the top of the Fermain Valley, close to the beach that is one of the best ones on the island.

It is at an easy drive from both the airport and St. Peter port. Both are also well connected with buses (ensure you download the app on your phone, it will tell you which buses and at which time, there are two bus stops close to the hotel). The port can also be reached by walking, there is a more direct way on the main road and a nicer but longer coastal walk - the last one requires hiking shoes as it can be muddy.

The hotel is comfortable and cosy, with carpet, couches and armchairs everywhere.

The room is spacious, bright, clean and warm. During the night, it seemed well soundproof and the curtains ensure it can be made as dark as you need. The bed was extremely comfortable.

The service is very efficient and kind.

A great night there. The only thing i will say is that the air conditioning unit makes a lot of noise..
Rock Garden food was great. Again, the only thing i can say is a bit pricey..👏👏👌

This place is in very quiet area and surrounded by lovely garden and about 10 minutes walk to the nearest Fermain beach.
It had a few choices of adjacent restaurants but the choice is slightly limited unless you go to St Peter’s port town. The hotel staff are all lovely and friendly and accommodated to our needs. The breakfast choice was so great and plentiful, and delicious so we enjoyed it very much. There was a sauna and swimming pool which we could use until 8pm. The room we had had a balcony so it was a bit pricy option compared to not having no balcony but it was worth it although I was not pleased with the fact that when the balcony window was open in the morning, sometimes I could smell someone (possibly staff) was having a cigarette/ smoke outside just right down of our balcony at the end of the building side on the second floor. I do not like the smoke smell so this was the down side of the room. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay there over all.
