Framlingham has many things to be proud of; the picturesque castle, the pretty market square and prestigious Framlingham College. This may be news to some of you but just off Station Road in Framlingham is X-on, one of the UK’s leading cloud telecoms companies  which despite boasting offices in Australia and customers all over the world is proud of the fact that its success is firmly built upon Suffolk roots.

What is particularly pleasing to hear and why it can be added to the ‘proud list’ is that the majority of X-on’s 30 plus-strong workforce live in Framlingham, Woodbridge and surrounding villages and among them are volunteers in local councils and clubs, members of village sports teams and former students of the area’s schools.

Managing Director Paul Bensley is proud of X-on’s ties to Suffolk, and the strong affinity to the local area that runs right through the company, which has called the innovative Framlingham Technology Centre home since 2000. The company has taken on four new people who live locally in Suffolk in 2013 and they have supported the annual Thomas Mills High School student work experience scheme for a number of years now, and engages withother local education providers.

Paul commented “With the excellent high schools in the area, we are finding that the level of applicants is so high that we can recruit engaging people, with technical skills sets and expertise, all from Framlingham and the surrounding area."

X-on has many prominent clients including HSBC, Buckingham Palace, Kelloggs, BT, Hallmark and the NHS, as well as the East of England Ambulance Service.
