Had a very nice 4 day break. We had a junior suite which was very spacious and comfortable. Food and service was excellent although a little slow at times.
Had some lovely walks along the prom.

Completely recommend this hotel, went here for a spa day with lunch, massage was amazing very relaxing. Lunch was delicious. All of the Staff in the spa and restaurant where 10/10 very polite, attentive and helpful. We had vouchers and the management was super flexible and helpful at getting our booking adjusted and booked in for us especially at this turbulent time!

I personally found staying at this high quality hotel a lovely experience from arrival to departure. I had no worries with parking as I was able to pre-book my space on site in advance. The sea front location was great for easy access to the beach and the town centre was a walkable distance for me. My room certainly had the promised sea view. The hotel building had lots of character - not "Uber modern" but more "grandeur with lots of style". Facilities at the hotel are what you would expect of a 5* hotel. A live jazz band playing in the hotel grounds on Saturday was an unexpected treat! I could not fault the service or the food. Staff were all professional, efficient, helpful and friendly. Restaurant menu - delicious choices! I would happily stay at this hotel again.

We would normally go abroad, but due to Covid restrictions took a recommendation to try the Eastbourne Grand. We have to say the experience was exceptionally good, with fantastic staff throughout. Its pricey, but completely met the mark for a relaxing break from the stresses of work!

Enjoyed a weekend spa with group of friends, it’s a very grand hotel, easy parking and welcoming doormen. Great service. Clearly caters for the older person which at 50+ made us all feel young. Beach is immediately opposite and was great for night time party. Some areas in need of a spruce up but apart from that we couldn’t fault it.

Very nice, but would of liked more teabags and coffee in the room.

We had a slightly disappointing stay at this hotel. Considering it is five-star and extremely expensive (£239) I was expecting more. The bedroom (218) Was on the second floor at the back and was quite small. The bed was far too small, queen size, with a low quality soft mattress.
Aside from that, we had a good stay but Didn’t think It was good value for money, particularly with no sea view.

This hotel is a beautiful step back in time to when service, care and respect mattered. Nothing was too much trouble during our stay and we felt like royalty. We ate dinner in the Garden restaurant one evening and the food was very good indeed, definitely a contributing factor to this hotel's five star status. One of us is vegetarian and the vegetarian menu is incredible; I'd go as far to say it would tempt many a meat eater to sample the delicacies on offer. We didn't use the spa but we did sit by the outdoor heated pool which was lovely and secluded. I have to give a very loud shout-out to Tony the Doorman, who was the first and last person we saw. Tony was so happy and helpful throughout our stay. He adds the cherry on top of what is a very well made and tasty cake of a hotel.

The Lounge, Terrace and Cocktail Bar is a perfect location for a quiet drink and special occasion. The bar space is very comfortable and relaxed, with periodic decor and theme. The main foyer is an impressive feature to the hotel and perfect for pictures of a special occasion.

The bar has an extensive drinks menu, offering something for everyone. They also provide a selection of small snacks, such as crisps and olives.

We stayed overnight in two junior suite rooms, my two sisters and two nieces were helping to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. From the minute we arrived and the helpful concierge helped us to park, we had a very special stay, we firstly had lunch in the lounge which was really good. My daughter and niece had a grand massage, they said the girl was very friendly but nervous and a bit inexperienced. The rooms were lovely, not quite so comfy on the sofa bed though, but handy to be able to share 3 to a a room. The evening meal was exceptional it maybe needed a bit more clarification on the surcharge amount if you had the dinner included as we did. The breakfast was also very good, we were very pleased to see pancakes on the menu. The only thing we did not like was we had booked a outdoor pool slot for the 6 of us and no sunbeds had been reserved for us which we think would have made sense we hd nowhere to put our robes, etc. It was also very busy with a huge amount of people on the sunbeds which was a tad off putting having an audience it was also unclear as to who was supposed to be in the pool. We had seen that the indoor pool was empty on our way out and the young girl when I asked kindly went into check if it was free and said there was 3 spaces in fact no one else turned up and we could have all gone in there, the younger ones still enjoyed the outside pool and in the end came in for a jacuzzi too, when we mentioned this to staff they did say it was tricky to gauge as it had been quiet with the bad weather all week, it is something to consider for future warmer days though to enhance everyones experiences. The staff were very helpful though, they also said it was tricky when people booked slots and then did not turn up. All in all we had a very enjoyable memorable stay, and the staff were so friendly and the food was great, thank you.

Our second visit to The Grand, five days in a nice side sea view room (131). Comfortable room traditionally furnished with a nice marble bathroom.

Very comfortable bed and nice old fashioned service. The key factor at The Grand is the courtesy and helpfulness of all the staff whatever their role.

At the moment breakfast needs to be booked and on a couple of days it got quite busy slowing service but the offering is good. We did not eat in The Garden Room but had another lovely meal at The Mirabelle.

The position of the hotel is very conveneint and it is only a short walk into town where there are many restaurant options.

The weather was mostly good and we were able to use the swimming pool on several occasions - lovely heated pool and relaxing poolside environment.

For those that like modern hotels with lots of "gizmos" maybe The Grand is not for them biut for old fashioned service and values it is hard to beat.

We will be returning again at the end of August.

We love the Grand. It is grand without being stuffy or pretentious. The staff are without exception terrific. We ate every night in the Garden Restaurant and enjoyed every meal. This is a great place to stay.

You need to book one of expensive rooms to ensure comfort
The evening restaurant is pricey and it is a good idea to try local restaurants
The staff are very very polite and helpful and the afternoon tea is a delight

If The Grand Hotel Eastbourne was in the English Premier League it would always finish in the top four and qualify for Europe. Wonderful facilities, great teamwork from the staff and superb hospitality in terms of accommodation and dining. The manager and team at The Grand Eastbourne ensure that guests enjoy a warm and inclusive atmosphere. The property is in an excellent state of repair too which enhances the special feeling generated for guests. Well done to the manager and team..

Very covid safe. Breakfast was delicious. Comfy beds, beautiful room. Just a really lovely stay and friendly helpful staff.

Asked for extra water one evening (as one bottle isn’t enough for me) it was brought up to the room, and the next day they had remembered & automatically provided extra… it’s the little details that really make a lot of difference :)

Having chosen to stay at The Grand we thought and expected to have all our needs catered for. Its has a great atmosphre and history about the building but although it is a very old building it could do with some updating, for example. My wife is a full time wheelchair used and cannot stand without help, this is why we had the only room with wetroom in the hotel, expecting the wetroom to be to a high standard of adaption sadly it was not. A glass patition blocked the access to the shower area, no drop down seat or grab rails, the rails fitted were for people that could stand although a seat was supplied it had no handles for my wife to use, the controls/taps were six feet away from the shower seating area, no shelves or somewhere for the wheelchair user to place soap etc. In the bedroom area the only electrical sockets we could use were at skirting level which made it imposible for my wife to use them.
The room its self was next to the cocktail bar and has a very thin wall between the two rooms and as a result of this turned out to be one of the noisiest room we have ever stayed in with staff walking around on solid uncarpeted floors we could here every step the staff made until early hours of the morning, we could also hear very cocktial being mixed and most conversations. I,m sure there must have been many complaints about this from previous guests. Everything else about the hotel is excelent, the staff cannot do enough for you and the food and drink also excelent. With a great location with access to the seafront and town is good. I know the age of these buildings is used as the reason adaptions have not been made but we have stayed in many old hotels where it has be done, and I suspect quite easily. Shame The Grand is not up the standards of addaptions other older hotels in Eastbourne.
A little more thought and effort needed for disabled rooms by The Grand.

We have just returned from a nights stay celebrating a postponed wedding anniversary. We have stayed at the Grand several time before. Its very traditional with silver service etc but definitely not stuffy. The staff are very friendly and courteous. We are Seniors and the bulk of the people staying there midweek were in the the same demographic. Saying that some quests were younger with children. The food in the Garden restaurant was good and the accommodation comfortable. We live locally but the position near the sea front is excellent for access to the sea/beach and Beachy Head etc. The town centre is about 20mins walk. A very pleasant stay, we will return and heartily recommend others to visit.
