Lovely stay recently at the grand hotel. Had great room with lovely sea view on 2nd floor. Rooms are slightly 'set in time' but are really comfy, lovely bed linen, and smart bathrooms. Attentive staff ...a really good stay. Think there are a lot of rooms without a view, so well worth paying for a good room. Parking could be an issue in high season and £25 a day for a reserved space seems very steep but you dont have a lot of choice. Would definitely stay again.

Although we did not stay at the Grand we did go for dinner and it was outstanding. The food was excellent and the service has no comparison. Highly recommended for a night out.

Prices are reasonable and while busy no one was seeming to rush you through the experience.

What a lovely surprise coming here to celebrate a birthday treat with friends. It was fabulous. The rooms where lovely, the staff where excellent and very helpful. Nothing was to much trouble for them. A swim in the heated outdoor pool, then a relaxing treatment and use of the indoor pool. A superb dinner in the Garden restaurant. A lovely breakfast with so much choice, the next morning, Just a big thank you to all the staff for making us so welcome and helping us to enjoy this lovely break. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

I was treated to a 2 night stay, with inclusive full breakfast for my birthday in early May. The room was a ''deluxe''and although very spaceous and opulent, we were surprised that it did not have a fridge /mini bar, however, the staff were very prompt to bring and replenish the ice bucket for our chilled water and more importantly our bubbles! We had a fine dinning experience on one evening but only in the garden room, due to the prohibitive expense of the other. Breakfast was nothing special for the price, and on neither day did they have the advertised kidneys!.Kitchen service was extremely slow for our eggs to accompany the buffet items both days, and the food layout was quite confusing. As other reviewers we also found, the indoor pool and spar was disappointing, but the outdoor heated pool and relaxation area was very pretty, with the exception of disguarded fencing and black rubbish bags, which we complained about, but hadn't been moved before our departure!

How better to experience the English Riviera than staying at the historical Grand Hotel on King's Parade in Eastbourne - a white Victorian facade with the Union Jack proudly raised overhead. Like the White Cliffs of Dover, this signifies our English shores where a doorman welcomes you to an oasis of tradition and calm. Enjoy a full English breakfast or fine dinner service resplendent with full silverware, read the morning newspaper in the lounge, relish a sumptuous cream tea, take a dip in the outdoor pool or stroll along the promenade opposite and breathe in the fresh sea air! You can even borrow a bike and helmet from hotel reception and ride down to the Pier or up to Beachy Head if you're feeling adventurous!
Rooms are pricey but breakfast, parking and spa use is included.
A memorable experience.

Myself and 3 girlfriends stayed at the grand. We had a nice time - friendly staff, great service and lovely accommodation. The only low point was the "spa" that was really just a pool with jacuzzi and was full of children! No empty loungers as wet towels left on them which wasn't great. I'd recommend the hotel but not bother with the pool.

Lovely landlady, great room, comfortable bed, wonderful breakfast. In a really good location near to restaurants, theatre, sea front, etc. Couldn't be better and all at a very reasonable price. I will definitely stay again if I can.

This was our second visit and this time we tried their other restaurant, The Mirabelle. Although their Garden Restaurant is excellent, the Mirabelle is more of a fine dining experience. It was great. The service at the hotel is second to none. We will certainly go there again when we get the chance.

The Grand Hotel is on the seafront in Eastbourne and it is divine. We enjoyed a delightful Victorian tea at Christmastime and look forward to staying there as guests on our next visit. The service s impeccable, the hotel is absolutely lovely.

This is a grand hotel in magnificent accommodation and only metres from the sea. The room was traditionally furnished, spacious and with high ceilings. The dining room was equally grand and the food expertly prepared and served. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent.

lovely old classic hotel that is clean and tidy. The room was of a nice size but the whole stay was let down by the lounge staff. we ordered 2 evening sandwiches off the small after 6pm menu, one was complete wrong so was commented on, it was replace with the wrong order a second time and finally the correct food arrived nearly an hour after the first sandwich had been eaten. we asked 3 times for a drink and in total took 2 1/2 hours to order and eat a sandwich on a quiet mid week evening. Such a shame as this was a birthday treat, the duty Manager deducted the cost from our bill and did apologise but unfortunately this did not really help the situation. we left feeling very let down.

Good served at lunch was well presented, piping hot and very tasty.
We were served coffee and petit fours in the lounge whilst listening to a classical trio play how quintessentially British.

Four of us went to the Mirabelle restaurant on Sat 30th May. The service was impeccable and the waiter and waitress very attentive throughout the evening.
I had the lamb and it was delicious, cooked to just how I liked it. The whole hotel oozes an old fashioned charm which you rarely find nowadays. After the meal we had an enjoyable hour in the lounge where we sat and watched couples dancing to a small group of instrumentalists and a female singer. A very, very nice evening and a group were very impressed. Would recommend.

We booked a deluxe double room and the room we were given looked absolutely nothing like the pictures on the website. It was half the size and was badly in need of renovating! Also the room overlooked ugly flat roofs where there were dead pigeons and the window was filthy!
We made reception aware of our dissatisfaction and we were immediately moved to a refurbished room which was much nicer and twice the size!
When I enquired as to why we weren't given a refurbished room in the first place they said they must have had a 'last minute cancellation' ??
The service at breakfast was extremely slow - we waited 15 minutes just for tea and coffee and people who sat down and ordered after us were served before us!
Overall very disappointing.

Our visit was for a high tea. Booked in the darkest winter months we had been looking forward to this. We were not disappointed. This is a luxury hotel and everything about it radiates quality. From your first approach staff greet you politely and are helpful. Ordering tea was again met by courteous attentive staff. Throughout the staff could not be more helpful and made our visit a complete delight. Definitely recommend tea at The Grand.

Well I live in Eastbourne, and this was my second visit. I did not stay at the hotel, but the staff were really helpful, friendly and looked to be enjoying their job. I dined in the Mirabelle restaurant, and the food is some of the best I have had anywhere in the world. Prices are not cheap, but you pay for quality. I had the Beef Carpaccio, Ray Wing, and the Cheeseboard, all were of top quality. This was the dinner menu @ £43.50 for all courses. Would recommend to locals and visitors alike.

This is truly a top quality hotel which is well worth the cost. Although on the expensive side of seaside hotels this hotel lives up to its name of "The Grand". The attentive and extremely polite staff give an unparalleled and non-intrusive quality of service, and this applies to restaurants, common areas and room service, where a turndown service operates, and toiletries, bedside bottled water etc are continually refreshed. We stayed over the Easter weekend, where the range of guests varied from families with very young children to those similar to ourselves with senior citizen status, and the hotel managed to cater for this wide range of guests with quiet and friendly efficiency.
This is a quality hotel that I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone who wishes to receive old fashioned hospitality in a modern environment.

We spentt two nights at The Grand Friday & Saturday. We upgraded to a sea view room with balcony which was great at it overlooked the lawns where the Eastbourne vintage car show was being held along with fantastic weather made it a great weekend.

The room was well decorated nice and clean. We ate in the Mirabelle Restaurant for the two evenings and had two guests for the Saturday evening. The meals were first class served at the right pace. The staff in this restaurant are great and can't do enough for you. I would recommend eating in the Mirabelle. The breakfast is first class and plentiful.

From booking in until leaving all the staff make you very welcome and are very helpful.

Hopefully we will be back this year.

My wife and i went for one night to this Hotel for her birthday. We were impressed with the grandeur of the entrance lobby and the staff were polite.Id arranged for flowers for my wife in the room and the Hotel did a good job of providing these. There was no air conditioning in our room but we asked for a fan and this arrived promptly, i was surprised at the lack of air conditioning at this type of Hotel. We had drinks in the bar before dinner, the bar area is very nice,we encountered a little attitude from one of the young ladies serving us which was a little frustrating considering the very expensive bar tariff. We had dinner in The Mirabelle, the food and the service were outstanding. Lovely Hotel, polite staff in the main an enjoyable stay.
