Having found a brochure for the marina at our holiday accommodation, we decided to visit one wet and windy Friday at the end of our stay. We had driven past the outskirts of the housing development in this area but did not know quite what to expect with regards the marina itself. It is fair to say we were left disappointed by the restaurants and shops, having been led to believe it was an international tourist destination. Maybe it would be better appreciated on a nice sunny day in the height of the season as there were not many yachts or anything of major interest to view.

It is a Marina, not much to say really, water and a bunch of yachts moored up. Very few shops , one large one selling tourist tat and a couple of resturants. Will be very nice on a very sunny day which we did not have, rain as usual this year.

Goood selection of place s to eat and drink from a chippy to an upmarket Thai restaurant, probably the best on the south coast. Simply Italian is very family friendly, the Harvester pub warm, cosy and very well staffed with young waiters and waitresses who are attentive and efficient. £4,99 all day for a meal is pretty unbelievable these days! Recpmmend De Leitos coffee shop and sandwich bar, who do an excellent all day full English breakfast, there is also a wine bar that does food and Pablos for latino food lovers, and thats just on the ground floor of the Waterfront complex. Don't miss a stroll through Bright Ideas to browse art and craft nick nacks of good quality for your interior decor gifts. They do great cards too and costume jewellery, chocolates and have a posh frocks annex called magenta if you are in to nice bags and shoes and bridesmaids or ball gowns...its an Ali Baba's cave. Nearby Yacht Club welcomes visitors. Walk around the harbour perimeter and watch the boats come and go through the sea locks on the half hour. Look down on the catch as fishing boats return. The whole area is wheelchair friendly with ramps and bridges that lift to let ships through. Check out the RNLI boat station, on the window facing the outer harbour you will see posted details of the most recent call outs. Drop a few coins in the money box, they need our support. Sunday mornings they usually have a training exercise from 10 till midday. There are 4 harbours in all: South harbour, West Harbour, North harbour and the central main basin in fron t of the pub. As well as the tidal outer harbour. Easiest access from the free carpark near Asda off Pevensey Road. Drive in past the carwash to a mini roundabout and take first exit straight across into the carpark in front of the yacht club. Free clean toilets next to the small security cabin at the boatyard maintenance area by the chandlers shop.

plenty of yatchs to look at. The shops were very expensive. The harvester was full of locals, not room for visitors to sit.

If you have someone in your family who likes to see boats this is the place for you. Lots of them. But not many of them moving! There's a Harvester, several other restaurants such as Thai and Italian, gift shops and chandlers. But nowhere really nice. And nothing much to see. If you want a quick meal after a trip to the Asda round the corner then it is OK - this is what the customers in the Harvester look like. There is the odd well-heeled boat owner around having a meal and a drink, but they look a bit out of place in the rather downmarket cafe area.

You can stroll around and look at all the boats, eat, drink and shop here -there's a branch of Asda, Next, Boots etc in the 'Crunbles' shopping centre right next door as well as some cutesy shops in the Harbour itself.

Good variety of quality restaurants available from traditional English and cheap at the Harvester through to Thai, Indian and Italian. As a resident of Eastbourne I often go wih my wife and take my pick! Pablo's is my current favourite.

I decided to stop off on my way from Eastbourne to Hastings - and I'm glad I did. Whilst the area is a new development which includes shops, restaurants a marina/basins and housing it is tastefully done and well worth a hour or two. Check out 'Bright Ideas' a jewelry/gift/clothes shop.

Lovely network of harbours with interesting boats moored and loads of properties around the complex. Pleasant walk along the bank of Langley Point.

Sovereign Harbour is a huge rather attractive marina, which unfortunately seems to be somewhat lacking in bars and restaurants. The rather small Waterfront complex is where the restaurants and bars are located, the restaurant that looked the most interesting to us was called Thai Marina (only found out its name when we got the bill as the awning hides it and there was nothing on the menu but a logo as far as I could see). I would actually go out of my way to visit the Thai Marina Restaurant, as it is one of the best Thai's I know (booking essential). The Marina itself is interesting to walk around, it's a pleasant walk from Eastbourne along the sea front (30 minutes approx).

We last visited the harvester for my Mothers birthday in August we always visit here as my mum likes the food alot, reasonably priced, quick service and is wheelchair accessible. My mum has a walker and cant walk that far to the salad bar so each time the staff ensure we have a table right opposite the salad bar and have a space to fit my mums walker in. The salad is always fresh, and the rolls, the food is always hot and tastes really nice. My brother is a picky eater so they always do the best they can with his meals, everytime we go to the harvester it is constantly busy and sometimes have to wait on busiest evenings but worth the wait. The only downside is that the toilets do need a refurb

We visited the Marina whilst staying in Eastbourne. When we arrived we took a short walk around then decided to take the boat trip round the Marina. We learnt a lot about what was there before the Marina, the Marina itself, some of the boats there & the gorgeous houses and apartments (I need to win the lottery!) We also saw some Cormorants on one of the jettys. If you look into the water in front of the restaurants you should see Grey Mullet swimming close to the surface. We ate at the Harvester there, great service and the good food and it was lovely to sit outside on a sunny day. Thoroughly recommend!

Walked down the front from Eastbourne Pier all the way down to the Harbour, which we found fascinating; especially the boats entering and leaving through the newly built lock system.
We walked all the way round the outside of the harbour and popped into one of the two pubs for a well-earned drink, as we seemed to have walked a very long way on a very hot day.

Well worth a detour when staying in Eastbourne. A delightful harbour (maybe too many high-rise flats though) and a lovely walk all the way round including while away some time watching the myriad of boats in and out of the lock. Much variety of eating places. Try the pleasure trip around the harbour - you will learn much about the area from the resourceful boat owner!

I went with my parents. It was a lovely spot to sit and watch the boats. The restaurants are not dear. The chippy is great for a snack.
