The Marina is a lovely place to go for a walk to see all the boats, watch them coming in and out of the locks and then go and have something to eat or just a drink at the many restaurants around the Marina!

For the very fit the walk from Eastbourne is pleasant along the sea front and all on the flat. There are harbour boat trips and many eating outlets within the marina for lunch but also nice for a leisurely evening meal as well.

Had a great day cycling around the marina and fortunate enough to hop aboard a friends yacht for some sea faring action.

Was suggested, by the concierge at our hotel, to go here on the Friday evening. We took a taxi and then wandered around looking at the different restaurants. We chose Pablo's and had a nice meal. Good choice on the menu. Very busy. Went for a drink afterwards and then had a taxi back to the hotel.

Great place to visit, ideal for those who like boats and all things nautical. Visit the locks or just walk around the marina. Good choice of restaurants.

The tourist office assured me there were lots of interesting little shops and places to eat... Wrong on both counts, unless you count Asda and Poundland as interesting. The food seemed limited to Italian, pricey tourist menu, with harassed and disinterested staff. It's nothing but a marina full of expensive boats and posh flats, with nothing to recommend me to go back as a holiday maker. It's also in the middle of nowhere, alongside a busy dual carriage way and you have to walk through shops that look like white warehouses. I believe one is already making staff redundant as a result of poor business. I'm not remotely surprised! Don't waste time going all the way out there; stay in town and along the esplanade where there are things to see and do and a choice of places to eat.

If you have a car the marina is definitely worth a visit (not so easy to get there by public transport). It has great restaurants (I particularly like the Thai one), bars and shops. When the weather's good you can spend a very happy day wondering around the shops, looking at the boats, eating in the restaurants and then sitting by the sea drinking tea or whatever is your favourite tipple.

I'm not sure that I would want to live there. It's too far from the town and probably not so interesting once you've done the shops and restaurants, but for a visit it's great. Particularly good for families as there is lots for the kids to look at and eat.

A wonderful place to either shop or just sit & chill. Excellent shops leading down to the waterfront. inc. Matalan, Next, Asda. A no.99 bus stops outside Asda every 20mins. Great views to see whilst enjoying a coffee or ice-cream.

is a nice harbour in general with lots of beautefull tulips+# beautefull flowers...easy going..beautefull beaches.but the pier itself is in totataly dispair..what a pit, here is a beatufull place..they could(the council..)could take more care, deslike very much, the fact that when is italian market in the harbour the very irracional drive of the van had the van on..burning petrol, dark_smelling,had talk+him..he laught,no much of surpervision from this actual councilsomething is wrong in this paradise, not much of surpervision at all what a pity..

A lovely place to sit and watch the world go by,whilst having nice food and drinks with loved ones.
Loved looking around the beatiful boats and letting your imagination run wild.
The boat trip around the whole marina was good fun and informative to. The trip on a racing speed boat was tempting but not as tempting as the fresh crab and prawns with a glass or two of wine. Cheers.

There are boats moored which are very picturesque. There is a small shopping parade with some unusual shops. One has china, glass and other ornaments which you would not be able to purcahse in the average high street shop. My favourite is a ladies dress shop which has medium priced goods of an excellent quality. They also sell jewellery. Nearby there a shopping centre with the usual shops, e.g. Matalan, Tescos. This is not to my taste and I prefer the small, individual shops.

A lovely place to go, wander around, or just sit down with a drink and watch the comings and goings. Tasteful development around the Marina which makes it very sheltered in cooler weather, and a sun trap when the sun decides to shine! :-)

De Leito's, Pablo's and SI are great value but busy cafes/restaurants. The Harvester is what you'd expect. The harbour is a lovely place to sit and cogitate on rare sunny days (or there's a range of shops in the nearby Crumbles estate). Nothing much for children but a pleasant way to spend a few hours, strolling over the locks and having a coffee/meal.

Lots of good eating places but not much atmosphere during the day.Probably better in the evening and certainly at the height of the season when all yhe boaters are in port. One or two little boutiques to walk around too.

We used to live in Eastbourne and I was one of the earliest berth holders in the marina in 1993, moving to France in 2000. Coming back is quite an experience, how the marina has expanded and the range of enterprises there. We had a meal in the Italian restaurant which was excellent value and very good, friendly service. My wife likes the hairdressers there.

Lovely place to sit, eat and drink and watch the boats on the water, very trendy shops too, but it has to be good weather to make it perfect.
