The marina is great for walking around on a nice day and viewing boats of all kinds with restaurants nearby. The outlet shops were large but limited variety, unless they have what you are looking for.

We visited the Harbour when Our grandchildren visited us. The bridge went up for the yacht to go into the marina. Also while we were there they lifted one of the boats up on a very large crane to hose the barnicules of the bottom of the boat, my grandson thought this was awesome he is 12 Years old. We then took a stroll around the marina and went into the gift shop on the harbour. The kids ended up visiting the chip shop. Apart from the chips a very cheap afternoon out.

This place has a real feel good factor. Those who like boats of all descriptions will feel right at home here. As well as looking at the variety of vessels, there are ample excellent places to eat or have a drink, and a great gift shop, so you can take a little souvenir home. Thoroughly recommended.

In summer it is lovely to walk around the marina. It looks a bit like a mini Venice with all the housing grouped around the man-made canals and connecting bridges.
My grandchildren loved watching the boats going through the main locks that is the gateway from the marina to the sea. There are plenty of places to eat, but be warned, it's a bit fancy and pricey, especially if you have a large family!
There are a few shops to look round and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the views. There is also a boat trip around the harbour. There is always the added advantage of a good shopping complex nearby.
My only criticism is that it can get a bit 'smelly' in the summer! I think this is because the developers stretched the canal system to the limit to maximize profits. This results in the canals not getting sufficient new seawater to flush the stagnant water out. But this is just my personal theory.
All in all a pleasant way to spend some time.

Sovereign harbour is well worth a visit as it is reputed to be the biggest in Europe. It contains five separate harbours, restaurants, shops and bistros. On a lovely summers day you can sit and watch the very expensive yachts go by. We have spent many a pleasant evening having afternoon tea or a glass of wine at one of the many bistro establishments. You can even take a trip round the harbour on a pleasure yacht with a guide pointing out various interesting historical points about the marina and Eastbourne itself.

Sovereign Harbour is definitely a place to visit. If you have half a day to spare and fancy a coffee and croissant by the harbour, watching the yachts sailing by, then this is the place to be. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from including The Marina Thai and The Mediterranean restaurants overlooking the harbour, both are excellent. Also Seasons restaurant which has just opened recently with wine tasting, good food and live music, great experience. There is also a wonderful shop selling lots of lovely nicknacks, clothes and shoes.

Sovereign Harbour is a delightful day out from the Pier in Eastbourne particularily if you walk along the sea front or better still take the Noddy train although it is relativel expensive when compared with the cost of a bus
Th marina is one of the biggest in England so big that there is a tourist water bus which takes you leisurely to each individual arm of the harbour. But equally interesting is just to spend some time near the lock watching the huge boats lock in and out The boating facilities are first class.
It is a place predominately for sailors ,would be sailors, and those who no longer take part but have happy memories. It will not be quite such an exciting place for those who have never been to sea in a small boat.
But there is a delightful choice of waterfront cafes ,water front bars and restuarants.. Walk the 2 or 3 miles to get there enjoy a splendid waterfront lunch and take the bus back unless you are side tracked by a trip to a rather large well known supermarket before you make the trip back..

Super place to people-watch, with a superb Thai and a superb Italian restaurant, plus many others.
Free parking within strolling distance, bur probably best not to visit in colder weather; as Lindy S wrote, it can be windy there as it's right on the water.

We visited here to see the RNLI Lifeboat based in the harbour since it left the boathouse on Eastbourne promenade - now an RNLI Museum. We were there during a downpour of rain and are sure it would be an attractive sight in good weather. There are numerous places to eat and shop.

What a lovely place we've found! Nice marina surrounded by brand new homes and a Mediterranean feeling. It's full of restaurants that also serve drinks and snacks if you're not into a full meal. The restaurants don't have nothing new in the menus and quite frankly the one where we had our lunch was not up to the standard of the place itself but the atmosphere of the harbour is great!

Close to there you also have free parking and several shops.

A place to come back and I even dare to say that is one of my favorite in the UK.

hard to locate through the housing estates leading out of Eastbourne, shame some of the restaurants do not do evening meals, not as big or busy as brighton marina or as good selection of eateries.

A lovely place that is often overlooked on a trip to Eastbourne. It is well worth a visit and a great place on a sunny day to get a coffee or a meal. The boat trip is good and very entertaining. A good place to people watch! A ride from Eastourne to the harbour on the dotto train is not to be missed. Great for all ages!

Didn't know this place existed! We decided to go and visit while staying overnight in Eastbourne, and we were so pleased we did. It's like another world, and you could be forgiven for thinking you were on the Mediterranean(when the sun was shining!)A wander round, enjoying looking at all the different boats and lovely apartments was just the ticket.A beer in one one of the waterside bars was very welcome too!We will definitely be visiting again in the future, and would urge anyone who hasn't been,to go and have a look, you won't be disappointed!
