Yes, it's a Marina with boats, water etc - but it has a good atmosphere!
Bustling with tourists, excellent eateries, cinema and shops, it's quite cosmopolitan for Eastbourne (no disrespect I love here!)
Well worth a visit.

Many restaurants to choose from with a pretty harbour to look at. You can also if you wish, take a walk around the harbour and have a coffee, glass of wine or a fresh fish dinner.

Modern Marina with lots of apartments. Pleasant enough place to stroll through on a nice day and look at the boats, but we could find nothing, not even a cafe, to keep us there or entice us back.

We caught the little train that runs from Eastbourne to Sovereign Harbour. It was a very hot day and the small selection of cafes were crowded. We had coffee at the largest one and, after a walk around the harbour, returned for lunch. Nothing special and the place seemed very over-rated. Signposting was abysmal; we weren’t sure where to go. Two hours was more than enough.

Sovereign harbour really a lovely place for a meal and nice to either sit and relax or walk about .We were told about shops there but if we had not asked a lady if she new were they were we would not have found them, there were no signs anywhere ,this happened to a couple who was staying in our hotel (so signs needed) but this was the only fault well worth a visit.

Regular visitors at least twice a year! Not much really changes apart from the weather. It's a fair old walk all around the marina, & not totally straightforward - some gated zones. Ok if you can appreciate the boats architecture & general scenery. Not much for children. Most of the bars / eateries are found in the one corner - fortunately close to the retail park & free parking. On a summers day it can be tricky getting seating, & more difficult for large groups. Plenty of choices; perhaps a bit pricey, but sitting alongside the marina with great views compensates.

Thought this would be an extremely expensive place to eat but was pleasantly surprised at prices. Whilst didn't have an evening meal, the breakfast at the Harvester was OK.

Went on the little boat trip around the harbour , most enjoyable , it was a gorgeous day , the man in charge is an ex navy man and gives you lots of interesting snippets of information as you sail round the harbour for around half hour . The only downside was the seating having a slightly raised nail which caught and ripped my dress , but otherwise a very enjoyable trip and lovely for children

Nice enough place to wander on a sunny day whilst watching the boating fraternity at work and play. There are only a few shops, but some decent cafes and restaurants to stop at and it makes a change from Eastbourne itself.

We often visit here some times just for a walk. Beautiful boots and scenes of the harbor. Some good restaurants I.E simply Italian is lovely. And fairly priced with friendly staff. The green house is great for drinks and live bands of a evening. Harvester is OK if you like that sort of thing. Expensive for not great food.

We visited the Sovereign Harbour Marina on a beautiful, sunny afternoon which certainly helps the atmosphere, with views of the working harbour, and a number of places to sit and relax, enjoy a coffee and take in the views. We followed this with a walk to the lock and then choose one of a number of restaurants to enjoy an early evening meal. if we had wanted there was the possibility to take a cruise around the harbour or book a trip to Beachy Head. Well worth a visit to wile away an hour or three

This is a lovely harbour to walk around, look at the boats or just sit and people watch. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes. You can also take a short boat ride where you will be given a tour of the harbour and learn all about the history.

If you want a great choice of food all in one place then this is it, busy most of the time, but a great setting to relax and chill.

Called here to have a drink and a meal recently after being reccommended, and found the suroundings tranquil and peaceful. Plenty of nice restaurants, pubs, and easy parking a bonus. Just to sit and watch the boats moving in and out of the marina was nice and relaxing as well.

We went into 3 of the restaurants either for meals of coffee We got varied responses. Gingoes as the name suggests is Americanised and along with Di Lieto's are great places nice price, good food and good service. The same can't be said for Pablo's. Food and price is Ok, but service is awful unless you are a regular. We were seated quickly but then ignored even though we were sat on a table near the door that they had to pass to get to others. When we tried to get someone's they just looked as us and passed by. Yet when people the knew came in they were seated and served quicklyWhen finally we did get a waitress it was " Oh did you want serving" No we're sat here waiting for a bus. DON'T GO HERE.

Love our days out here. Beautiful location, beautiful boats and a few really beautiful shops! You can take a long or shorter walk around the marina, no bikes or roller skates but see a lot of scooters. Watch the locks bring in the boats and bridges come up and down. My children love it. Lots of places to choose to eat and drink at and free parking. Well worth a visit.

When the weather is good this is the place to walk around and look at the boats and take a meal at one of the restaurant, it's not that bad at other times as you have the coffee shop and restaurants to go to and the children can see the bridges go up for the boats to pass. You can also see the sea fro here. You can also see the fish that come into the shallow waters.

Have been twice and it is a lovely place to visit. There are great places to eat or sit and have a coffee watching the boats in the harbour. Feels as though you are on a lovely Mediterranean holiday.

Sovereign harbour is only done 3 miles from the city centre of Eastbourne. Free car parking and joins a shopping area with asda, boots, matalan, Harvey's to nMe a few as well as a cinema and gym.
The harbour areas allow a good view of a range of boats and in summer there is plenty of activity. There is a small tour boat that can take you around the harbour areas. A good range of eating places finishes the area off. We enjo standing at the lock gates watching boats go in and out.
