This is a fantastic place that is secret to many people. It is a new 'housing estate' but it doesn't look like it. The buildings have been built with great character and it is a treat to walk along the wide promenades and then eventually the sea.

We spend hours just watching the boats going in and out of the locks, fascinating (but sad perhaps!)

There are plenty of places to eat and drink from a Harvester to a Thai to Italian and, being by the sea, a fish and chip shop. When the weather is warm on the Sunshine Coast there is no better place to sit and relax than down the harbour.

If you really want to shop there is a shopping centre next door with Asda's, Boots, TK Maxx as well as many more shops. There is also a multi-screen cinema.

There is a large free car park or you could catch a bus there.

Lovely interesting harbour, plenty of places to eat and selection of all types of food. Didn't look at the shops. Busy, lovely to sit outside with coffee or a meal if the weather is good.

Lots of different types of restaurants/cafes,lovely on a summers day,but gets very busy.
Unfortunately,on a stroll road the marina one day,we came across 4 piles of dog poo, there was a poor fella having to go round with his cleaning equipment picking it up😟
So PLEASE ALL DOG OWNERS ,HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR OTHERS AND CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG!!
Apart from that,it was a very pleasant visit.

It's a one-stop location where you can walk the harbour side checking out the luxury, and not so luxury, boats while watching them move in and out through the locks. You can easily walk through to the beach. You can dine in any one of a number of restaurants and bars and finish with your weekly shop at a superstore or watch the latest blockbuster movie at the multi-screen cinema. You might even catch sight of the seals at low tide in the outer harbour.

The views are nice and the area tranquil but the clientele in the area add a rough feel to the Harbour.

Had lunch at simply Italy restaurant which was very nice. Another time we had dinner at Ganges Indian restaurant. It was quite good but the food was not as good as other Indian restaurants I have been to in London.

We took friends to the sovereign harbour. We stopped for a coffee and cake at simply Italian. Beautiful on both counts and what a beautiful view of the harbour. On a beautiful hot sunny day watching the boats in and out you would think you are in Spain or Italy not Eastbourne. If you are in the area give it a visit there are plent of other restaurants too.

Good place for a stroll - great range of restaurants. Much improved since my last visit. Worth taking a walk out to the large sea lock.

My husband and I [and the dog] stayed for a couple of nights at a camp site. We walked down to the marina and enjoyed looking at the boats, but mostly looking at the wildlife. There were a couple of seals, a few cormorants and because of the shallow water, we could see loads of very large fish. We continued on our walk to have a look at the shops, but were a bit disappointed. As long as you're only looking for somewhere to eat, you'll be okay. There is nothing else. A short walk further on you'll come to some bigger, well known shops and a cinema.

This was a delightful surprise to us visiting Eastbourne. Parking was free. It is a huge development with plenty to see and do. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants. It does not have much charm as it is so new but once we sat down to eat at Pablo's, in the sun by the water and bobbing yachts, with a cold glass of wine in hand, it could have been the South of France. Chilling on a summer's day is the best way to enjoy this place. Unless you have an apartment and a boat of course.

The marina has been developed with care and attention and is worth a visit if you are in East Sussex, the entire area has been designed to be family friendly with free parking

We ate at twi of the restaurants at Eastbourne Marina while on holiday last week. My husband is disabled (uses a wheelchair)and so we were pleased with the parking and access to the restaurants.Plenty of restaurants to chose from and we did go back again,

After our first meal, it was such a lovely day we walked round the area of water in front of the restaurants, to look at the lock gates and watch the boats coming and going. However, when we had gone round two sides we came to a part which is just a rough area and no path; no access for a wheelchair. As my husband can walk a little we managed to get up the slope and watch the gate working. Very interesting. While there we met a man on crutches and another lady in a wheelchair. The man on crutches managed and the lady in the chair was taken back the way she had come. Isn't it odd that such a new place should have one corner preventing access. I hope before we return there a path will have been put in place. Apart from that, we enjoyed our visits.

Not our first visit probably our third or fourth which probably says a lot, when visiting
Eastbourn Sovereighn harbour is not probably top of your list, but i think to spend
two or three hours there is time well spent. There is good free parking and a good
choice of restaraunts to suit all pockets for lunch with excellent harbour views.
There are plenty of shopping experiences within walking distance and nice caffes
for a relaxing coffe,Iff you require a supermarket there is a large Asda with cheep
petrol, Iff you wish to travel by bus thats no problem, Then of course there are the
loveley boats to admire even if like me you cant afford or want to afford them,
so definately worth a visit.

Really good to just walk around here, take in the yachts, have a little trip, visit the shops.
But best of all visit one of restaurants and sit outside in the sun overlooking the water. It's a grand view.
Best of all, if it rains or is really windy, then book a table in Simply Italian and enjoy freshly cooked great food, great wine and served by wonderful genuine Italian people. Enjoy!

Watching other people messing about in boats, taking a stroll around the harbour and seeing vessels negotiating the locks (not always shipshape and Bristol fashion) and then eating out at an excellent variety of eateries. What's not to like?

It's a beautiful place for a walk with family or friends or babies, but the stares you get from passers-by are unbelievable it makes you feel alienated. Yes I am Asian but that is no reason to feel secluded.

We love watching the boats come and go in this marina. The locks are interesting and the whole place very pretty.I think it's a shame that there is no hotel here. We would love to spend a weekend there.

Many restaurants with lovely views over the marina and the many boats moored there, very busy the Sunday we were there, seems to be “the” place to eat. Nice setting if you want somewhere to eat with a nice view.

We walked from our hotel to Sovereign Harbour. As you turn a corner suddenly it is there. Boats, bridges and restaurants everywhere. Bridges and locks. We watched a lock opening and we were fascinated by it. The small bridges going up were fun to watch. The tide was out and we saw2 x seals basking on the sand. What an experience.
