We visited here for an evening meal on a short trip to Eastbourne. We booked in the afternoon and were lucky to get a table.
Excellent food and wine selection . The pulled pork starter was sublime . Main meals were presented well and my chicken was delicious. My wife's lamb main was fantastic. The ice cream and panacotta deserts are a must. Restaurants like this are a rare find , I wish I lived nearer. The wine we chose was an Albarino and was delicious. Highly recommended.

I loved the food, had tomato and red pepper soup followed by baked eggs. Although small the restaurant had a great feel with fantastic service. A hidden gem in Eastbourne

We went for lunch after reading the reviews. The decor is lovely and the service is very good . My food was lovely but it’s quite expensive for a quick lunch . It’s a small menu but suitable for all tastes .

Me and a friend ate here last Thursday evening - although quiet, only two other tables, the restaurant had a lovely ambience with everyone enjoying their food. The service was attentive without being pushy and the food and wine delicious. We will definitely be visiting again!

Went last weekend for a birthday treat. Small cosy restaurant with very attentive staff. Started with cocktails that were excellent followed by three courses of beautifully presented and tasty food. Finished with a couple more cocktails!

Since opening Skylark has been a fantastic addition to Eastbourne. We've had breakfast there a few times, always good and dinner there a number of times, so far always excellent! Fresh, local ingredients, changing seasonally cooked to perfection. The whole experience is on point, super friendly, great service and no nonsense, great flavours. Our last visit was for valentines night and the set menu was just right from the complimentary bellini to the lovely 3 course meal.

I visited Skylark with my work colleagues for a lunch get together. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was extremely tasty. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

First time at Skylark. Very friendly staff. I would have liked to see some salads on the menu. I had the eggs on mozzarella, peppers, potatoes etc. Whilst quite nice it did seem like a dish made up of leftovers. A bit odd really. Obviously a very popular restaurant with a good atmosphere but more menu choices would be good.

We were so pleased to find this restaurant on a weekend trip to Eastbourne as the standard of food is really high. The limited dinner menu is a good sign and all the food was carefully prepared with good ingredients and great flavours. Service was very friendly though a little slow, but that is to be expected when everything is cooked fresh and on a busy Saturday night . The restaurant is a cafe during the day and the decor is a little spartan and lacking in atmosphere for the evening and would benefit from some more subtle lighting. But will definitely go back on the next trip.

Lovely restaurant and I have difficult dietary requirements (no garlic or onion) - waitress was friendly and accommodating and dishes were adapted for me which was appreciated on a busy evening. Will definitely return and highly recommend as an independent restaurant in Eastbourne - looking forward to trying out the breakfast and lunch menus!

I’ve been to Skylark multiple times for breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee. It’s a lovely atmosphere and the staff are welcoming and friendly. The dinner menu food is very impressive! It’s not your average menu and done in a very sophisticated way. The menu for lunch and dinner are simple and with few but good options. I would definitely recommend.

Visited Skylark with a group of old school friends, for Xmas catch-up. One member had Christmas menu, which was good value for money and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rest of the group chose off normal menu, all of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. The atmosphere was very laid back and staff couldn't do enough to help. A supposed quick lunch turned into four and a half hours. There was no pressure for us to leave premises (as can occur in other eateries) this was also the Saturday before Xmas. Great place, don't think anyone would come away dissatisfied .

We have found it quite testing to find a really good restaurant to enjoy a special dinner with local, good ingredients, cooked the way we enjoy them. Well. We have found the place now.
This evening, we enjoyed three courses, a bottle of red and it was excellent.I ate Purple sprouting broccoli with anchovies and chilli, followed by Venison with Juniper Berries and winding up with Sticky Toffee Pudding. My husband chose the Fennel and Blood Orange salad, Supreme of Chicken finishing with the Affogato.
Everything was perfect. Staff were helpful and friendly and we enjoyed a chat about the ingredients and where they were sourced and why they were selected. It was a super evening and a lovely dinner.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Skylark. We only scratched the surface this evening and I look forward to the next visit.
