This is a family orientated super friendly restaurant. The food was great as was the wine. The place gets very busy so service is a bit slow, but great atmosphere makes up for it.

A bright, clean restaurant with great service and food. We stopped in for lunch whilst shopping in Eastbourne. Delicious pizza. Friendly staff giving first rate service. I had the pan-fried sea bass fillet and it was excellent. We will certainly return on a future visit to Eastbourne.

I visited here last week for my first ever Italian meal. The place was busy but service was amazing. All staff were very friendly, were very polite and they even offer to put your salt and pepper on your food for you!
My first Italian and I was super impressed. So much variety on the menu, service was so quick, and the mushrooms and carbonara were delicious!
Thank you!

Had the best experience in a long time. Waiters were so kind. I had a gluten free 3 course menu and from starters to dessert I had a fabulous real good gluten free italian food. Gluten free pizza is definitely to try!!

It would seem that we are creatures of habit. In August 2015 we topped and tailed our visit to Eastbourne by dining here on successive Sundays and this year we have done the same. Not only can we report that the service and the food were again of a very high standard, we can also thank them for holding on to my wife's camera, which she had it turned out left behind on the first Sunday and only missed (she had spent the whole week singing or talking about singing) when I picked up her luggage from Eastbourne College; also for the opportunity to make a donation (of the discount to which we would otherwise have been entitled) to the Italian earthquake appeal that they had been running since the disaster had occurred earlier in the week.

Been coming here for over 10 years. A day in Eastbourne isn't complete without a meal here. The location is near to the front, the food is always excellent, the price is reasonable and the staff lovely. What more could you want?

The restaurant was very busy for a Wednesday evening and therefore very noisy, could hardly hear each other talk. . The waiters were excellent and quickly took our order and the food arrived promptly. We are not lovers of pasta or pizza so we ordered veal and chicken which was nice but not amazing, the sauce on the chicken was like water. The mussels i had for a starter were overpriced at seven pounds fifty the dearest i have ever paid for mussels. A pleasant evening but will not be going again.

I arrived here with a girlfriend, tired of checking out eateries and settling ..almost as a last resort, with this one...looked kinda quiet from the outside but on entering it was buzzing with people...too noisy really. We stayed, and we realised alot of those around us were there for their pre theatre meal.
We both marvelled at the number of waiters and wondered how quickly the cooks had to work...additionally wondering how long our wait for food would be. I also thought they would probably get something wrong as I had a few 'take that off and replace with that'...I also enquired if a courgette starter was crispy, was told it wasn't but they could make it so (I feared it would arrive slightly charred). However, in what seemed like less than 10 mins our meal arrived with no mistakes....the courgettes in a light crispy batter. And to top it all...the food was great.

What an amazing place! The atmosphere was brilliant, the restaurant was busy for a Thursday night with a huge range of types of people (families, business people, tourists and 2 birthday parties), the waiters were speedy and efficient and the food and drinks came quickly. The pizzas were amazing and my daughter's gluten free pizza was fantastic.

This is our go to place for Italian in Eastbourne.
The food is lovely. We have eaten in here quite a few times and although the place is always packed and I mean always, the service is exceptional and the quality of food is fantastic.
The waiting staff are very attentive even though it's rammed to the hilt nothing ever seems to be a problem.
The food comes out from the kitchen ping hot and looking delicious and if you like Italian, you won't be disappointed.
A good size restaurant upstairs with a smaller over spill downstairs means at least 200 covers a service, all handled with pride and efficiency.
My wife and kids enjoy the food, the girls never manage to finish everything although my wife and I never have this problem and you never feel like your being rushed which is lovely.
10 out of 10 for me. The best Italian restaurant in Eastbourne.
Highly recommend booking especially for weekends.

Amazing place to eat. Friendly staff & good clean facilities.
Best of all "Gluten free" options for almost all meals. We have celiac and didn't suffer any adverse problems in the days after. Prices are very reasonable, to the point that I would be happy to have paid a little more!!
We always come here while visiting the local area.

Food excellent. Menu of the day good value but a la carte can be expensive.
Our waiter on pouring wine spilled it , Also serving the coffee spilled it in the saucer think he requires more training. This also applies to the staff in general some friendly conversation would create a happier atmosphere.
As a disabled person difficult access to toilets, 3 steps, and no disabled toilets
For a busy restaurant very surprised there is no disabled facilities.Think it unlikely I will be returning

My favourite place to eat on the south coast. Everything about it is good - the food, the surroundings, the staff etc etc. Hard to choose between the pizza and pasta but it has to be done, so you have to go back at least twice. Starters and deserts are well good too. The prices are good but they even do 'specials' at certain times. Always busy so that shows it is popular but the excellent staff will always accomodate.

I have eaten at Pomodoros so many times over the years and I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal. The choice is amazing, I could eat there every night for a week and not get bored and I can be very fussy!

We booked in advance after reading other TripAdvisor reviews and having been recommended by a local that it was always busy. A warm welcome when we arrived and very good service from the start. Drinks arrived promptly as did the pasta dishes, which were excellent (spaghetti & meatballs and spaghetti carbonara). All staff were friendly and funny and it was busy. Other meals being served at adjacent tables looked delicious. Décor was very Italian, lovely atmosphere.

The food at the Pomodoro was excellent and ample portions. The staff were superb, great service. To make things even better the cost was very reasonable. Would thoroughly recommend for friends meeting up, couples and family celebrations. Children were most welcome.

Came across this whilst on a short break to Eastbourne. Restaurant was busy, we were lucky to get a table. Very traditional Italian food in a traditional Italian restaurant. Pasta was excellent and wine was reasonably priced. Booking advisable, particularly at weekends.

We chanced a visit here Saturday night without a booking, we had read mixed reviews re service. We were surprised to get a table due how busy they were. We were sat next to the door which they apologised for but we were grateful for any table. The amount of people they sat was incredible. The atmosphere was alive, and the hard working staff provided a totally adequate service for such a busy restaurant. The food was fantastic and we did not wait too long considering. We absolutely loved the place. If you want quiet, intimate and personal service it's not for you but if you want exciting hustle and bustle and excellent Italian food you will not be disappointed.
