We live close to the restaurant and it is one of our favourite eating destinations. The place has a lively ambience, the food and wine are good and the value of the set meal is excellent. Although a big space, it is almost always full with the busy, cheerful staff doing a remarkable job of keeping pace with the customers' demands. It is a place that leaves you feeling happy and you really can't wish for more than that.

We were recommended to this restaurant before our visit to Eastbourne and were not disappointed. Very good food, nicely presented and good portions. Very reasonably priced set menu served by friendly staff. Would recommend and visit again if we come back to Eastbourne.

We are here with a group of friends! The food was fabulous I had pizza, my husband had Calzone and our friends all had pasta. The portions were good and the food was really tasty.
The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive and it was really busy too! Would definitely recommend this restaurant!

This noisier, more family orientated restaurant adjoins the more up-market La Locanda. Here one finds the buzz of the Italian trattoria. It is a clever operation, catering for students (special rates), pre-theatre goers, families and groups, as well those needing a good quick meal at lunchtime of dinner. Cooking is very good - the pizza ovens are open to view - and the menu extensive. Set menus cover many concerns and the a la carte caters for all tastes; there are regular 'specials'; the pizzas and pastas are generous in size and are popular; there are many regular customers which speaks volumes; it all comes at realistic and affordable prices. A very good, well priced wine list. Very good speciality breads. Booking advisable. It knocks spots of its competitors. Go there!

We first visited this restaurant on a Monday and found the waiting staff unfriendly and they did not engage with us at all. The lady on the till did not look up to say goodbye when we left but food was lovely though. My crumbed salmon was wonderful. As we were on holiday there we returned ( for the food) a couple of times and depending what night you go the waiters seemed more friendly. I think if you are regulars the staff are friendlier! The food was still lovely even though they did make an error with one dish. If you don't mind rather bland surroundings and brusque staff but lovely food then this is fully recommended.

Had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. We needed gluten free options and nearly the whole menu was available in gluten free - even the profiteroles!! Really great value for money and very pleasant ambience. Definitely recommend.

We had a family dinner after the kids finished school. We had heard great things about the restaurant and we were not disappointed. When we arrived at 18:30 for our reservation, half of the restaurant was already full with families enjoying an early dinner as well as tourists.
The Children and my wife ordered Pizzas and I ordered the Monkfish medallions. The food arrived quickly and the portions were large.Tasty food and quick service, the two things you need to keep children happy.
By the time we had finished, the restaurant was getting busier and getting the waiters attention to pay the bill took a while. Other than that the staff were very attentive and polite.The meal was really good value and certainly better than the larger Italian chains. I would certainly prefer to come back to this restaurant than eat at one of the chain restaurants serving a similar menu in future.

On recommendation we called in on a visit to town. Staying at The View hotel, the restaurant was a short walk away.
We arrived as the place opened and were given a choice of tables. It was a good choice as the tables filled rapidly - an obviously popular place. Drinks, meals and dessert were impeccable and the bill was quite reasonable too.
Well worth a visit.

My wife and I use to use Pomodoro every week if local, but last 5/6 years have noticed a decline in service/food, as you enter the restaurant area on your left often smells stale!!! not pleasant at all, even worse when you head towards the WCs.

13 of us went here for a meal for my sisters hen weekend away, we booked as needed somewhere who did gluten free and there was a good choice and my friend said the food was really nice!Absolutely lovely place to eat, staff were so helpful and friendly great atmosphere and the food was amazing. I couldn't recommend enough, pizza I had was the best I've had in ages. Would definitely go back! Thank you pomodoro e mozzarella x

So glad we found this restaurant during our recent trip to Eastbourne. Being a vegetarian, the risotto was very tasty. My husband had a meat calzone which was absolutely massive!! Staff were very attentive. Lovely atmosphere and enjoyable (non-rushed) meal
