Our family regularly eats at Pomodoro e Mozzarella because the staff are friendly and fun, the food is excellent and inexpensive and some of our family travel from London just to take advantage of their wide-ranging gluten-free menu. This restaurant is ideal for birthday celebrations (staff will produce a cake if asked and sing "Happy Birhday" to you) and large gatherings. It is also very good for smaller, more intimate dinners and lunches. Excellent for Eastbourne's theatres (whether pre-show or after-show).

Always a friendly and relaxed atmosphere at the restaurant. A good venue for young families as well as couples on a budget. The quality of the food is excellent and varied - always freshly cooked - and the staff are cheerful and helpful. Definitely worth a visit especially if it's your birthday - singing Italian waiters at no extra charge!

My favourite italian restaurant in Eastbourne. Fab food especially the sea bass in chilli. Service and atmosphere brilliant.

Have been here several times, every time is very good. The food is always excellent, whatever I have had from the menu was just as good. The staff have always been polite and provided a good service. The mussels starter or the Parma ham with melon starter are very good. Tiramisu melts in your mouth for dessert. Would always go back.

Very good Italian food within 10 mins walk of theatres. Good for a pre theatre dinner, good choice of menu and buzzy atmosphere. Value for money and pleasant service.

We chose Pomodoro e Mozzarella for a bite to eat before heading to see Singin' in the Rain at the Congress Theatre. It was a good decision! The staff are attentive and many appear to be Italian, which is always a good sign. I had a gorgeous margherita pizza, cooked to perfection in the open kitchen's stonebake and a side of delicious french fries. My other half had the chicken with mozzarella and ham, which he too loved. With a glass of wine and a diet coke, the bill came to just over £30; great value for the quality of the food and the service we received. Great variety of choice on the menu and some good set menus, too. Couldn't fault it!

Been here twice both for work do's. On both occasions we were sat downstairs as we had around 6-8 people each time, but the downstairs area was quite chilly. On the second occasion we were originally sat upstairs but the waiter said they had a party of 8 who requested a round table so asked us to move with the promise of a lemonchello after our meal which we never got.
The food was good on both occasions however after having the carbonara, i was ill straight away afterwards so not sure what type of cream etc they use.Price is reasonable. Due to the last occasion of having to be made to move tables and being ill immediately after, put me off going again.
However the the staff a lovely - couldn't fault them

Nothing amazing but nothing to fault. Service reasonable and smiling staff , clean and tidy dining area, prices are fair for food is ok . We had starters and pizza main for £11 each.
We went early evening at approx 6pm midweek, it was very busy but they found us a table and service time was acceptable .

We go out as a rarity, so somewhere nice is important.Wife had fillet steak. I had the sea bass with ginger and garlic (and chilli). It was sooooo good I asked to see the chef to personally shake his hand and thank him for my dinner. Not cheap, and we didnt go for the pizza side of things, but god it was good.
young family celebrating daughters 16th was next table, happy birthday sung, by all in restaurant. really comfortable atmosphere, but not intimate if thats what you want2 courses each with bottle of wine approx 70 quid for two. No mucking about. Why go for cheapo when you go out so rarely...
Highly recommended...

We came across this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. Because of the Mother's Day the restaurant was pretty busy.Although the waiters were a bit slow, the food was amazing. The size of the portions were good and everything tasted delicious.

Definitely recommended!

First we went to the sister restaurant of this eatery: La Locanda del Duca as we were meant to have reservations. However due to a mix-up we ended up being taken to Pomodoro e Mozzarella. Whilst we were appreciative they found us a table in short notice. The overall experience was average. My pizza was ok but nothing special and my partner pasta were not the freshest (not homemade). This is probably a restaurant were regulars are being treated better than one-off. Unfortunately for us we were one-offs so did not get much attention nor did our food. In and out in less than one hour. It is really busy and feel very impersonal. If you want a quick ok meal this should do.

Pomodoro's food is amazing and the customer service is brilliant , its a great family restaurant!
We have been going to this Restaurant for over 6 years every Christmas eve, airborne and sometimes other special occasions. It has a great atmosphere and the staff are always very friendly and helpful, I highly recommend it. Pomodoro is by far the best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at.

Visit to this restaurant was a part of professional course in nearby facility. In spite or early arrival, staff provided warm welcome and drink, while waiting for rest of the group. Must have been difficult for them to serve thirty guests in one time, but the managed. We went for one of the menu. The appetizer (fish) was served without bred; otherwise meal was OK, tasteful and properly cooked. We fully occupied basement area of the pub; the rest of it was almost empty. Little long and complicated way to restroom. Generally speaking, I was satisfied with this facility.

Last Sunday we had our 10 year old daughter's birthday party in the party room; 25 children from 6 to 10 years old and 5 adults. Plus hired entertainment with disco lights, smoke machine, etc as well as all the games for the party. The room set up was ready for the party when we arrived, fantastic atmosphere, staff were very friendly, attentive and flexible, and the food was excellent. The children menu portions were very good, with very fresh ingredients and the manager was happy to make reasonable request changes according with the party plus they let me bring along the birthday cake and use their fridge to store it, it was fantastic. We would love to say thank you and fully recommend this family restaurant :)

We came across this gem of a restaurant whilst on a short mid-week break to Eastbourne. Even though it was a Wednesday night in March, the restaurant was busy, with a lively, friendly, atmosphere. The waiters were welcoming and very friendly and helpful. We chose from their three course set menu at £11.75 per person, which offered a very good choice of dishes. We could not fault the food; it was cooked to perfection and so beautifully presented. Our bill (for two people) came to just under £45, which included a bottle of Merlot and a Peroni. We could not believe that we had eaten so well at such an amazing price. If you ever are in Eastbourne, give this restaurant a try – you won’t regret it!

We took a party of 15 family members, ranging for 18 months to 70, to celebrate our parents 50th wedding anniversary last Saturday. Staff couldn't do enough and made our mum and dad feel so special, the card from the staff at the end off the evening was a lovely touch. The food was excellent best veal I've ever had. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere the group of diners behind us were lovely and very understanding of the sometimes loud laughter and reminiscences going on. A evening we will all remember for all the right reasons. Thank you we would recommend to anyone visiting Eastbourne to try it once during your stay guarantee your come back for seconds.

Along with a party of around 50 this visit was my first and it will not be my last!
Immediately greeted by very friendly staff who had a great sense of humour.considering our very large party the service was swift and efficient.
Vegetarian meals available. My choice was Sea Bass ,for desert Creme Caramel best I have ever tasted, I understand made on the premises. For people with mobility problems there are two sets of toilets, better to sit on the left of the entrance only 3 steps! seated on the right the facilities are accessed by a steep flight of stairs.
The owner was unobtrusive and friendly.Altogether a satisfying and fun experience.
