During a trip down memory lane to Pevensey Bay, we popped in here for a drink and it was such a great find! From start to finish, Lisa could not have been more helpful and friendly. While we looked at the menu, a jug of iced water was brought to the table - even that had orange and lemon slices added to it!
Between the three of us, we ordered the tacos, whitebait and a warm cookie pie...
The tacos dish was a very generous serving and reported to be very nice. The warm pie and ice cream was similarly well received. The deep fried whitebait, served with lemon and a tasty tartar sauce was delicious. Again, the size of the serving was very generous, especially considering the price of £4.99. More than an elegant sufficiency, to be sure!
Throughout our visit Lisa was attentive, without being intrusive and added to our enjoyment. We were told about their practice of using as much local produce and skills as possible, such as using the local fishmonger for their salmon and whitebait and a local artist adding to the interior. It was great to hear about the active Pevensey community, too!
I can't praise Massilia Bay highly enough! It was such a lovely place to find and it's the epitome of great hospitality - a delightful change from some grumpy and mealy minded places, to be sure.

We trusted the very positive reviews but unfortunately our judgment is barely sufficient for the following reasons: our table was dirty, not to mention the floor, the thyme chicken was flavorless, absolutely anonymous, the curry chicken was the same, nothing special. The only acceptable dish was the beef steak.

Loved this. They have Neck Oil, one of my favourite beers, that you rarely find in Sussex, and Holy Cow ice cream from Seaford, my favourite ice cream! Win win! And you can sit outside and relax. The chips weren't bad either. What more could you want?!

We were well looked after by Nathan and his hardworking, friendly team. We enjoyed a tasty dinner Saturday night and a fantastic Sunday roast. All meals were of good quality, portion sizee and value for money.

We spent the weekend at Pevensey Bay and ate here 2 evenings and once for lunch. Delicious food and the biggest Sunday roast I have ever seen! All great value. Great service and beautiful sunset from the outdoor seating! All just a few minutes from the beach! Fantastic!

We just attended an amazing party in massilia bay where all 8 of us had the great food, perfectly prepared and served by a team who were run off their feet but still couldn't do enough for us!!

Honestly this hidden little gem in Pevensey has blown our minds today. its only been open a month and is the perfect place to eat after a day at the beach just next door trust me you will not be disappointed 10/10

I've been following Massilia Bay on Facebook for a while and their food has been catching my eye. The mussels appeared in my feed earlier this week and looked too good to ignore, so tonight I finally gave them a try for myself.
I'm pleased to say they completely lived up to expectations. Fresh, full of flavour and absolutely delicious. It's always nice when something looks great online and is every bit as good when it arrives at the table. I'll definitely be back to work my way through a few more dishes on the menu.

Popped in after a walk along the beach. Lovely friendly service. Went for the muscles and they were super fresh and delicious. Had a naughty dessert of brownie and ice cream which was yummy. Will be back for sure

I’ve been here twice now in the last week. I had the mussels a few days ago, and they really were the best mussels I’ve ever had; so meaty! I came back today and had the meaty pizza. So much topping and the best crust. The service was spot on, so friendly. Thank you!

we stayed in pevensey over the summer and came here for a meal one of the nights. the food was lovely and came piping hot , however the service was not the best. it was quite slow even though there was not many people in, but this did not ruin our experience . i would recommend this place for a meal to anyone staying nearby as the food is really nice .
