Desperately looking for a restaurant when on holiday to celebrate our first Anniversary. Wasn't expecting that much, but it was excellent, food, atmosphere and service. Highly recommended.

Wanted to eat out on Sunday night, bit limited but this little gem popped up. Well wow, amazing food, great service and ambience. Great rustic decor. When booking my husband mentioned our anniversary and we had a card on the table, napkins folded to hearts and a candle. Lovely touch.

Great food, poor service. Went as a large group. We chose our food only to be told that half the menu wasn’t available.
The food was very good but the service was pretty awful- wrong wine brought, slow service. Twice we had to go and look for staff to order.

Just had a lovely evening- food was excellent and all of the staff were welcoming and looked after us both - pianist was great too - highly recommend

We went on the Friday Fish Night. Had Sea bass with vegetables and the fish and chips, both recommended.
Desserts are to die for as well.
Had a lovely evening and the staff were so friendly, helpful and jist overall lovely people. Well worth visiting when in Pevensey Bay.

Wonderful food, helpful charming staff and amazing atmosphere.
We went on the Friday Fish Day, really good choice of fresh fish dishes. Had the Seabass with assorted vegetables and the fish and chips. Beautiful!!!!
Dessert was amazing too! Well worth a visit!

i ordered fish chips skins left on the potatoes lazy cooking and very dark
the fish was cut in half and slapped on top off the chips only 3 people in the restaurant and the chip shop long road there was about 15 in the que so the locals know where the best food is

We had a great time here, it was my birthday and staff pushed the boat out. My daughter said it was the best pizza she'd ever had. Fantastic friendly service, it really felt like they werent taking our custom for granted, we had a thoroughly great time with some amazing food.

We ordered fish and chips from the lunch menu. We had tried to go to Rosie’s Fish bar down the road but they wanted almost £14 for fish and chips which is crazy even in 2025. This restaurant was doing fish and chips for Ed £9.99 which seems a much better deal for me. We ordered four fish and chips. We had to wait quite a long time which was about 20 minutes, the fish was huge which was great. The chips were kind of like potato wedges which was a little disappointing as we really wanted chips however we ate it all😉

I got the Capriciosa pizza, and it was very tasty. The pint of Leffe was good as well, if a little pricey at almost £8, but this was offset as the pizza was half price due to it being a Wednesday, which was a nice bonus.
I also got the brownie and ice cream, which was pretty good as well. The whole thing came to just over £20, which wasn't too bad at all. I thought there was going to be an issue with my Scottish notes, but they sorted it very quickly.

On this visit to Eastbourne we chose Pevensy Bay to look for food. Took a chance and very pleased we did!
We don’t know any names but our lovely waitress was much above standard and the owner friendly giving us a Bon Appétit as he passed :)
The food was delicious, Sea Bass and a Steak meal ( it was Wednesday Steak night, a free glass of wine )
We got lucky and will be back with my sister in law who’s a local but not been.

The location and the exterior of the building (and, to a lesser extent, the interior too) are all pretty unprepossessing - but do not be put off! Massilia Bay has two important things going for it. First, the food is good and not expensive - portions are not huge, but good ingredients are prepared and presented very well. Second, the service is truly exceptional. The team is young, efficient, attentive and great fun. Whoever owns Massilia Bay should be very proud and appreciative of their staff.

This is a lovely restaurant, with freshly cooked food, a great choice, and delicious! Lovely atmosphere, a secret of the locals! Well worth a visit, and very close to Pevensey Bay shore!

Went for dinner. Lily the assistant manager was delightful. We didn't realise that the kitchen closed at 8pm so we were there just in time. The seabass was lovely not overcooked and nicely presented. Wine reasonably priced. We enjoyed our experience so returning on Sunday for lunch
