The whole process was so easy from signing up,making sure the date and time was convenient, to installation Charlie and kieran were really helpful and let us know what they were doing every step of the way. They also made sure that we knew how everything worked before they left. We even got a call from Karen after to ensure we were happy with everything and everything went well. Superb service Happy household with an Internet service which actually works.

Good building survey and fibre installation. Flat install was good apart from an issue with drilling external walls. Service works as described and at a much faster speed than my previous Internet. Reliable and consistent so far. I gave canceled de installed my previous broadband and WiFi.

Just had my install for Lightning Fibre and I'm very impressed with the service and installation overall. Fred and Charlie turned up and discussed the installation with me and the best options for wheo put the equipment. Helped move furniture where necessary. The install went smoothly up until connection when it was discovered the cable when being blown through from the cabinet had been damaged. Not a problem as they wnet away for half and hour to get this sorted, came back and reconnect me to the outside cable and I was up and running. The guys doing the install where happy to answer any questions I had and made sure I was happy with the install and speeds I was seeing prior to leaving. The service itself is blazingly fast and we are all very happy with the improvement over the old BT copper line which was awful. Very happy overall.

Well first of all, if Trustpilot allowed me ten stars to click on I would have, but having to make do with five stars will have to do. Having put up with PlusNet for quite a few years there were many things I was disappointed with them. The 52Mbit up/15Mbit down was never stable for starters In addition it was a intermittent service with drop outs lasting sometimes hours at a time. Phoning to them was a real pain having to wait on occasions over half an hour before I got to talk to a human being (if that’s what you could call them!). Over the last few months they had increased the monthly charge claiming the inflation + their 3.9 (profit greed) when the inflation was not as high as they claimed (£32.00 per month)! Their chatbot on their website was useless, much like the way the actual staff spoke to you when you did get to speak to one. Promises and lots of “apologies” reluctantly said but never followed through with, until many more phone calls to prompt them. As for loyalty it meant nothing to them even for loyal customers. After the Internet and my landline phone being down for over two days I had had enough of them. I cancelled my contract and canceled my direct debit as I had seen that many of their customers still get charged monthly for the cancelled service, until they spot it on their bank account. Then apparently have great problems to get their money back from PlusNet.

I’d had enough with PlusNet and got in touch with Lightning Fibre. Ordered Fibre to the Premises at 150Mbit up and down. Unlike the other FTTP company in the area Lightning Fibre deal with you directly, politely and helpfully, not though a third party reseller that then adds their profit on to the cost per month. Lightning Fibre charge currently charge £24.00 for 150up/150MBits down. Three times faster than PlusNet and with a monthly saving of £8.00.

On the allocated day of installation they turned up on time. The installation of the fibre did not go smoothly unfortunately. Broken/blocked ducting between the GPO street manhole access(as it was in the days when the ducting was laid) between the street manhole and my house. To find this break it took a while with six guys (three vans) and the occasional visit from a tech man. They ended up having to dig a hole in my neighbors front garden, then tunnel through to where the ducting was broken. Incidentally after they had finished there you would not have known that the had dug/tunneled from his front garden. After that it was plain sailing for them.

That evening when I ran a speed with a independent speed tester (speedtest.net) I found that I was getting 1Gbit up and down. Unfortunately they dropped it down to 150MBits a few hours later in the evening.

From the start of it running I saw no problems with it, but the next day I had one of the technicians at the front door saying that there was a small problem at their end. They ended up changing the fibre termination box which did not cure the problem, re did a fibre splice outside and cleaned the plugs/sockets on the equipment in the house. That was two of them eventually on that visit. They went off happy with what they had cured. They even followed up the next day by phone call to check with me that every thing was OK at my end.

I was really impressed with their guys doing the work who were courteous and chatty with me during all of this. Although they had problems it was not down to their fault, but to cure it they had to throw a lot of time and workers to get it right.

I now have a internet connection that runs at 151 down and 152Mbit’s up and £8.00 cheaper, steady speeds than I never had with PlusNet. And by the way they answer a phone call a lot quicker than ever PlusNet did! The two other things I did not mention above was the router supplied. it is a good one (Zyxel DX3301-T0). They also supply in the package a remote Wi-Fi booster. The other point is that there is no installation charge for the package.

I highly recommend Lightning Fibre if and when you want to get FTTP into your home. And if you talk to them nicely you might get a better deal from them. I did!

From the first call to the installation was so quick and easy, we now have ultra fast fibre 500,it's as fast as they say and alot cheaper than we were paying Talk-Talk aswell. Customer service is really helpful and you actually speak to someone that knows what they are talking about.

When they dig up my street last year I got excited to have a new real fibre connection. However, it took them almost a year to get things up and running. I've received a call few weeks back (I filled the interest form some time ago, so they had my number) advising they are ready to connect. They got me a good deal, we agreed for a install date. They followed up a day before as a reminder. They showed up on the day as agreed, and new fibre has been run. I've had extra request to put it in existing conduit, which I have fitted myself ahead of time. All was sorted and couple of hours later modem has been fitted. They provided Zyxel WiFI router and extra WiFi access point. I tested the speed and got 500Mbit UP and DOWN. Talk about the result! I had few questions, so I used the ticket system, I got rather meaningful responses. It just works. I did not use the facility where you can connect the old analog phone into the modem, so I can't comment on this. Please note, they do NOT support IPv6 at all.

Installation had a few hiccups with issues on the road outside our property, but customer service were always helpful. The installation itself took a while to fix, however the team who came, Charlie, Liam and Levi were all very kind, friendly and worked hard to get it working as quickly as they could, with as little disruption to us.

Principally a new provider choice in a mature market of limited competition. A local provider to me as well. The installation had its difficulties but the Lightning team engaged well with me in working through the issues which delayed connection but had limited inconvenience as I had not terminated my existing provider before Lightning was set up. The team fitting the router and setting up indoors were all extremely helpful and went through issues with me carefully. I look forward to a long and high value service from this provider who do not seem 'remote'.
