We had booked an Easter break in Eastbourne with Travelstyle staying at the Fairlands Hotel, but after a traumatic first night we moved hotel and managed to book into The Langham. When I rang them they had only one standard room left at £72 per night including breakfast. we could have phoned round (thank the lord for smartphones) to find a cheaper hotel but decided to book this one. I explained to them what had happened and was told to come straight away and they would look after us. This was about 9.00am and the room wouldn't be ready til 2.30pm they offered us breakfast and coffee and offered to store our luggage. We then went to the shopping area as it would be closed on the Easter Sunday We had a very enjoyable tea at the Victorian tea rooms on the Pier and then went back to the Langham at about 2.00pm. Not only was our room ready but our bags were taken to our room.
Not the biggest of rooms but larger than at Fairlands, clean, bright decor, high ceilings fab bathroom with bath and shower over with ample hot water.
As it was very cold we decided to eat in the hotel's restaurant and booked a table. We ate a very nice meal 2 course for £13.50. Afterwards we went to the bar where the entertainme,nt was a man singing and playing the organ a few were dancing.,
Breakfast was served in the conservatory on the front of the hotel overlooking the beach - cooked to order no self service.

We then took the bus to Brighton as we had missed the Travelstyle day trip the day before. You get the 12 or 12A from the pier and get a £10 family daysaver to get on and off buses day. I am told that you can use a pensioner pass on this bus but alas do not qualify yet.
All in all a great stay at the Langham, nice room lovely staff who couldn't do enough, would definitley go there again if in the area.,Oh forgot to mention free WIFI.

Having visited this hotel over the Easter Weekend and our first visit to Eastbourne I can honestly say we had a fantastic time. The hotel staff are polite, helpful and could not be faulted. The hotel is clean and comfortable. We stayed in room 116 which overlooked the sea and was very comfortable with a double bed and new bathroom suite which consisted of a walk in shower. The price is reasonable for a 3 star hotel and we would certainly recommend a visit.

We organised a party at the hotel, stayed overnight and enjoyed breakfast and the Jazz Lunch on Easter Sunday. The staff, without exception were efficient, friendly and very helpful. Our bedroom was beautifully decorated, with a lovely shower room and seaview. The hotel offers excellent service, location and food at good prices and nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be going back!

We only stayed overnight after attending a party in the hotel. Excellent location right on the front. Lovely seaview room. Newly decorated and nice and clean. Plenty of staff on duty. I would certainly return again for a longer stay. My only criticism would be the cost of the breakfast (which was included in our stay, so it wasn't an issue). The cost of a full-English breakfast was almost £10 and the portion was very small, which made it worse because it was served on an oblong plate. Only one rasher of bacon. However, it was well cooked and piping hot but I would have preferred to have seen more of it.

Just back from an overnight stay for a Ladies Night at this hotel.
Our room had a sea view from two sides and was well presented and very clean. No bath but a very nice shower room.

The evening event was very good and the service was excellent. Serving approx 100 guests the food arrived on time and was hot and delicious. The bar was well staffed with little delay in getting a drink and the prices were reasonable. Midnight supper after the event was a real treat.

A good nights sleep followed by a brisk walk along the sea front and we were ready for breakfast.
Plenty of choice and cooked to order.

Over all a great night out made all the better by the service from the hotel and its staff.

Evening meal was very good delicious fish, as was the breakfast. Staff very helpful and pleasant. They do monthly literary lunches and I have one booked for next month. Cannot wait.

The Valentine's Gala Weekend was a great success. Lovely room overlooking the pier, great service, fantastic meal and professional entertainment. Guests up and dancing all night. We both enjoyed the evening and meeting new people. Thank you.

because 26 years ago I worked at the Langham as a chambermaid and have often driven past wondering what it was like inside. Well, that changed the night my husband and I stopped at the Langham. The decor is nice and relaxing, the rooms are now nice and spacious. The breakfast was lovely; and they cooked a fantastic poached egg - find them so hard to do at home! The staff were nice and friendly, thank you Nick for allowing me to have a wander around the hotel being nostalgic about what we did and how we did it!

I would recommend it to anyone but then, I am biased!....

Five+ Stars Langham! For the third time staying at this hotel, we were not disappointed. The staff were really friendly and enjoyed looking after us always with a smile. No cobewebs to be found!
The food was cooked to perfection, served with a smile, on very hot plates when needed. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked again for next year! Well done Langham Hotel

Excellent standard in every way for our 5 day stay. The staff were very polite and helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them and they always seemed happy in their work. There were always plenty of staff for any task.
The food was very tasty, varied and very well presented.Homemade flapjack was delicious. All aspects of the hotel were very clean and suitable.Parking, at this time of year, in very local streets was no problem at all. Will be very happy to return again in the future.

I stayed there with my wife for 4 nights whilst doing business in Eastbourne. I choss the hotel after a lot of research on Trip Advisor.

We had a great stay they provided me with just the room we had asked for. It was warm and comfortable. On the top floor it had a great sea view.

Meals were good quality. The breakfast menu was extensive and all the food we received was cooked fresh. The three course evening meal menu was changed daily and again was excellent value for money.

In terms of value for money it was a great deal. I will def stay again next time I am in Eastbourne.

PS worth noting that the hotel thrives in winter on small events and groups... but that did not bother us at all as we ate in a separate area overlooking the sea.... and the service was first class.

My husband and I regularly attend Jazz lunches at the Langham-they are wonderful. The service is first class, so is the food/wine, having beef [local farm] carved from the trolley by your table, is a sheer delight. Furthermore the food is always served on hot plates.
We can't fault anything about these events and that is why we attend every one of them.
In general we only have the highest regard for this establishment-are always treated well with attentive staff and a varied menu which we are always happy with.
The wines are also very much to our taste and we have no complaints whatsoever!
I could go on and on ....................

Our Ruby wedding was on the same day as the Langham hotels Valentine night .12 of us booked in for the Saturday night and what a great night it was.The duo called Duality they had singing that night was so perfect for a romantic evening.
We have used this hotel before and the staff always treat us as friends but are always very professional. The owners Neil Kirby and his wife Wendy are such perfect hosts. The food is always first class and the service excellent. The rooms are beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Would always recommend this hotel for the perfect stay.

We spent Friday & Saturday night at the Langham as part of the Regimental reunion and have got to report that we enjoyed every minute.
What a lovely change to book into a hotel that had a personality and where you actually felt welcomed. Nice touch to be assisted to our rooms with the luggage.
At all times staff were friendly, helpful and Smiley.. and believe me a smile goes a long way..
We were lucky enough to have booked a seaview room which was great.
We enjoyed the food on both nights and for our 'black tie' night the staff had just the right amount of attentiveness.
Well done the Langham and well done to John & Heidi for the organisation.

Just spent Friday and Saturday night at the Langham Hotel as part of a reunion weekend. From the moment we arrived the staff were extemely helpful and friendly. The food was first class and the service was excellent. I would certainly return and would also recommend to friends.
If I have any criticisim it would be that the bar prices were quite expensive 4.40 for a G&T and we had quite a few!!!!! and What's going on with having to check out by 10.30am some of us were just getting to bed!!! Seriously a fantastic weekend. Thanks for the great service.
And to RQMSRHC, thanks for your organisation and lets have the same next year.

Visited the Langham Hotel with a party of nine from local Bowls Club for a "Jazz Lunch" in the hotel's restaurant) and although we had a great time (Can't miss with the personalities involved) there were a few bum notes. We could not get in until 1.30 pm and although we were politely led to the bar to wait no menus were handed out which was what we expected. Once we were taken to our table we encountered The Jazz trio's "interval" so it was silent apart from the chatter from a whole raft of tables. However, we were taken off the main floor and positioned in an alcove to the right from which the the musicians - who eventually came back on - were not visible. It didn't matter because they were not much to look at and never smiled (apparently). And of course we could still hear them (if we strained our ears a little). Meanwhile, despite a phalanx of restaurant staff it took quite a while for us to be consulted about what we would like to eat and in the end it arrived in dribs and drabs - mostly drabs. My wife's chicken was crusty and vegetables, when we eventually got them, were cold. Apologies were offered. The potatoes were in two dishes but only enough for us to have two each. We asked for more and were assured we'd get them, but it just didn't happen. We tried to compensate with extra cauliflower which, by contrast, was in abundance but we all found it hard, unyielding and fairly tasteless. Several of us had the sirloin of beef off the trolley and although this was a laborious process via the young fellow who clearly hadn't much experience of it, the carved meat was pretty good and tasty - even though I was served with an "endy-bit" which I, as someone who doesn't like waste, consumed but shouldn't have been asked to. The starters were varied and I had a lovely plum-tomato soup. For dessert I chose an excellent crepes suzette with vanilla ice-cream (you could have ice cream or fresh cream, although not both) but I had to pay a supplement. The whole thing was listed at £19.90 a head for three courses but with a couple of bottles of decent wine (which must have been expensive) the entire bill for nine came to £226. By about 3 pm. the jazz trio had long since played the Last Post and gone off quietly but that was no great loss even if we didn't get to hear much of them any way. Before we left the owner (the charming Neil) greased up to our table and told us all about himself and asked, I think, if we had enjoyed our meal. We didn't really have the courage to tell him the true story - he will learn it here and from his waiting staff) because he was clearly very proud of what he had provided (probably all in his book which he kept on about) and we didn't like to upset him..

The Langham Hotel played host to a party of 55 Serving Soldiers and Old Comrades from all over the UK and Germany this last weekend. From the moment we started to arrive and check in the hospitality and service was outstanding which in itself only complemented the wonderful surroundings and facilities the Langham has to offer its guests. The rooms are all recently renovated, extremely well appointed, decorated and comfortable.
The quality of the cuisine, wines and beverage selection on offer was without doubt first class. Regimentally we have always prided ourselves on demanding the highest standards from our soldiers and in return treat them with the same, catering being one area that affects us all. The Langham obviously works to that same principle, the food was superb and plenty of it.
The atmosphere that was generated by all of the staff went to enhance our experience immensely, all were extremely pleasent, professional and helpful at all times. The whole operation is masterminded and directed by Neil and Wendy who are consumate professionals in their field and we are indebted to them for all the additional time and effort they took on our behalf to make our weekend event a superb success. In summary the Langham offers an extremely good "value for money" experience. We look forward to our booking for 2014. Very many thanks to our new friends in Eastbourne.

We stayed at The Langham for a couple of days 17/18 Feb. A double and family room, (both sea views) Both very comfortable. We have stayed here on several occasions in the last 6 years, and have seen the hotel grow as it has been refurbished, On every visit we have been welcomed by the friendly staff, and cannot rate the hotel strongly enough. The accomodation and food are excellent. Nothing seems to be to much trouble, Congratulations to the owners of the hotel, who have one of the best hotels in Eastbourne.

Stayed for another excellent night at the Langham for the Valentines dinner and dance with my Husband, son, daughter and their partners and it was a very enjoyable experience. The tables were beautifully decorated, the food was very good, and the team remembered our food allergies, and my red bushTea ! The rooms were very clean, warm and spacious, with lovely views across the sea. The team made our Grand daughter very welcome when she joined us for breakfast. When we came to the dance last year we were waiting for her to be born.We are now looking forward to coming to another one of their Jazz lunches or popping in for a meal in the conservatory or one of their cream teas.

We booked to go to the Valentine Dinner & dance and decided to stay overnight at the hotel . We were very pleased with our room, it was quite large and overlooked the sea, the bed was very comfortable and the room very clean, it may have needed a little maintence, but had a nice large bathroom and very good shower and had everything we needed, we asked for some extra pillows and towels when we went down for some coffee and by the time we got back to our room they were on the bed.
We didn't know what to expect for the dinner dance as we had never been to a function there before and we were very impressed, we had a glass of bubbly at the reception & there was a photographer there for people wishing to have their photos taken. We then went into the dinning room and it had been done extremly well with red bows around the chairs and red ballons and little red heart confetti sprinkled on the white table cloths. The staff were brilliant and had everything so well organized, the food was served quickly and efficiciently and was absolutly delicious. There was a duo singing I think called Duality and they had everyone up dancing as they sang a good variety of songs, it was a really good atmosphere. Next morning we had a very good breakfast before coming home. Very well run hotel and looking forward to going to another function there again.

Booked on the way down from London on a Saturday. Easy booking with well-spoken receptionist. Terrific single room. Compact and just what was needed. Lovely shower room with good soaps shampoos etc. Full length mirror, one stool, one chair and desk, sitting mirror and hairdryer. Nice bed, clean fluffy towels and even hot chocolate amongst the tea and coffee! The shade on the light above the bed was loose, probably caused when cleaning, so I tightened it up at no charge :-) Some hotels claim to have a reception area when they don't. Here there is always someone around reception if needed. Nice selection of bottle bitters in the bar too, so another plus particularly for real alers like me. Great breakfast in pleasant surroundings. Can't fault any of the staff I met. My second stay and I don't think I'll bother to look for another hotel when in Eastbourne next. Came back completely relaxed. A steady hand on the tiller here I suggest! Gladly recommended.

The bar food is brilliant even the coffee comes with flapjack and biscuits. We were shown the superior rooms which are stunning.
