Beautiful gardens. It was a wonderful time out and about with history and nature. The ground was a bit water logged, but that was a part of the fun!

Beautiful gardens, would have loved to go inside the castle but this was not available. Mis read the tickets - Herstmonceux Castle Gardens not Castle AND Gardens!

Beautiful castle. Unfortunately it is rarely possible to visit the inside. You can visit the gardens and the park around. We have been there in Autumn. A really good time to envoy the beauty of nature.

Not bad, but not 5 star. Only outside, no inside visiting. Garden rather "normal" then "outstanding".

Nice formal gardens and a decent tea room. Well worth the £6 entrance fee. A good place to spend a couple of hours strolling

The castle does not open till the 18th February and is impossible to get pass the guard on the road leading up to it but there is a public foot path at the side of the road that leads to the castle and let's you have a magnificent view as its a field with a hill. Lovely for a picnic.

I went to the castle in spite of it being closed, hoping to view the exterior and surrounding green areas..However this is one of the places you are prevented from getting any nearer than 1000 metres..Due to fences and barriers..l went to have a pint at a pub instead to console myself on wasted effort

Came here to take some photos and was delighted with a local private music event. We got to go inside and watch some local musicians sing. Very unique experience. Went outside for sunset and got some epic photos of the castle. Unfortunately crashed my drone into a tree and into the moat! Lol
