Fabulous place to visit, made even better because it was a glorious summers day<br>I especially enjoyed the woods, close to the folly, I would like to know the type of tree with the amazing branches .

Very interesting history and beautiful gardens- and we loved the little Folly, with its garden. Nice café as well. Well worth the entrance price.

A hidden gem, also a Canadian university so you can visit only gardens but it was worth it. Especially, the magic garden!

First time to Herstmonceux Castle & well worth the visit. Beautiful gardens. The only disappointment was the cafe. Ordered & paid for a cream tea & was then told they didn't have any cream but we could have butter. That's NOT a cream tea is it!

Just one of the most magnificent pieces of architecture ever built of brick, surrounded by wonderfully cared for gardens and grounds. The castle can be toured, which we have done and is most splendid. On this occasion, we just visited the grounds and gardens, even a little overcast it's still magical.

We could not factually visit the castle because admittance was only available in the outside area. Considering the high price of the ticket it would not make any sense. A real pity indeed.
