Very nice, we did the walk around the outside which was good with some lovely views, only 4 miles so not too long starting from the Bulls Head pub. Recommend this walk to anyone.

Beautiful gardens and grounds. The gardens are set out in a series of smaller themed areas, each very well planted (and well labelled if you are interested in horticultural names). I loved the magic garden (I'm sure I saw pixies and elves 😀). The sweet chestnut trees are a favourite of mine (around since 1700) the trunks are huge and look like they have been carved. The castle is impressive and very photogenic but be warned, if you want to tour the interior you may be disappointed. The castle is an academic establishment and guided tours are only offered around the academic schedule (for an extra fee). Check online before you visit if you are set on seeing the inside. I was quite happy with the gardens and grounds but would have liked the opportunity to tour the castle, as this wasn't made absolutely clear on paying our entry fee I have given this visit 4 stars. But on a sunny spring day it was a very pleasant few hours.

We went with all our family for the Easter event. It was popular and had attracted a lot of people. I personally felt there weren't enough activities. There were three Alice in wonderland characters to welcome you, some falcons but the display wasn't until 2pm and the event started at 10am. Archery which wasn't for little'uns and a quiz to spot things whilst walking around the grounds. We enjoyed our picnic but shame there wasn't more for the youngsters especially being advertised as a big Easter event.

This is a beautiful place to visit in spring time. The day that we visited, only the grounds were open, but it was such a lovely day, we were happy being outside. The gardens are well kept with a wide variety of plants. This is the sort of place you Could just sit in one of the gardens and relax for hours. Well. Worth. A visit.

£15 family ticket for park and gardens only, seems reasonable. Personally nothing outstanding but, could have been the time of year (spring) not much colour in the garden.<br>This is a private castle and gardens so don't expect National Trust or English Heritage.

Castle is stunning... However the Bader centre accommodation was adequate at best and dinner in the pub was awful (enjoyed breakfast, though!)
