Pseudo castle but plenty of history. Moat and beautiful gardens. Bee friendly flower beds, a rope maze and tea rooms. Owned by a Canadian University. House not always open, need to book, check website.

Gardens are fabulous, with lots of hidden gems, and places astounding to behold, the external castle is beautiful, however the guided tour inside was not as good, as many rooms are set up for teaching and the clear use of them for this detracts from the experience. It is very good value for money though and the guide was a wealth of knowledge.

We had missed the last guided tour of this impressive castle, but really enjoyed the time we spent in the beautiful, peaceful gardens. We also had delicious cake in the tea room.

Went to see tattoo at the castle both bands performed very well. The backdrop of the castle made it a perfect setting a lovely place to visit

Went to watch The Military Tattoo but didn't read the advert properly. Was pleasantly surprised to watch both the London Scottish Regiment and Prince of Wales Royal Regiment Orchestra. Is was quite relaxed thank god as I didn't have rope, duck tape or gags with me for the children and they could play on the field to the side in full view while mummy actually got to enjoy this amazing show! Wish to god I could upload a video for you because it sounded awesome! The grounds were beautiful. Will definitely go back to look round the castle and all of the grounds
