August Bank Holiday is the time of the Medieval Festival. I've been for the last 9 years now, and still look forward to it every year. I've seen the battle re-inactments many times, so for me it's more about a chilled out day with friends, lots of eating, drinking and perusing the many stalls selling all kinds of weird and wonderful things. Check out the hats. I rest my case. 😁

I had not realised that this was an international school of a Canadian university which is the reason why only conducted parties allowed round the house. We enjoyed the tour which was lead by a guy who had excellent communication skills and a sence of humour. His pitch was just right, he was interesting but did not try to overload you with information. We enjoyed the visit and had a meal in the cafe.

Didn't think I would enjoy this but the gardens were amazing even my kids liked them and the attached observatory was the highlight of our holiday.

Beautiful gardens and you can visit the Observatory at the same time. Great hands on science for all ages. Better if not raining as there’s lots outside

A beautiful place. Gardens to sit and enjoy. Particularly enjoyed the sundial and rose garden. Ideal for any age to enjoy.

Der Besuch hier war ein wenig enttäuschend. Es sieht alles von außen ein wenig verwahrlost und wenig gepflegt aus. Möglicherweise täuscht der Eindruck auch und das ist genauso gewollt um mehr Authentizität zu gewährleisten
