This is a rare hidden gem, beautiful castle and grounds lots to see, the tea room had excellent food, I recommend the guided tour of the castle, it is very interesting ( it gets booked up quickly so go early) best of all it is the best value for money I have come across in along time, I would highly recommend.

Amazing time again at the medieval festival at Herstmoceux Castle. Always an awesome atmosphere. People are so friendly whether you dress for the occasion or turn up in modern clothes. Great food, great ale and loads of vendors for buying clothes, weapons and trinkets. The shows are great and the living areas are really educational too. Great day out for the family, or better yet, pitch a tent and stay for the whole weekend.

Good value for money. Plenty of parking. The cafe is really good with a very comprehensive choice of locally sourced food which is not expensive and the staff are lovely. Wonderful grounds and the butterfly garden is beautiful. Well worth a visit.

Had a wonderful visit here today! Called ahead as we wanted to stop on our way home, but we were towing our caravan - very kind man on the gate radioed down to check there was plenty of space for us to park when we arrived and security met us in the car park to make sure we could park where we would be able to get out again, can't fault them! Had a lovely wander around the grounds and gardens with our dogs and a lovely lunch in the cafe which was all homemade. All for £6 each, really impressed!!
