Apart from scaffolding at front of castle and unable to use the main bridge entrance, which we were told about on at main entrance to grounds, we were very disappointed with the unkempt state of the gardens. They clearly need regular maintenance .

Nice gardens. Small but with nearby fields down to a folly. Was closed when we were there, though much of it is a Canadian Uni now. Visit can tie in with festival at nearby famous observatory if that still runs.

Tour provided as the castle is being renovated and I can honestly say I've not been on a tour where the guide was so knowledgeable and engaging. The cafe has a great selection of drinks and home made cakes

Visited on a sunny day so I managed to visite the grounds and circuit the castle. The building itself cannot be entered as it is owned by a Canadian University but the gardens and nearby woods and lake are enough to behold. Small cafe and toilets alongside the Castle and the nearby former Greenwich Observatory domes are visible. (This is a separate attraction). Dogs welcome. At the time the Castle entrance was being refurbished but the other sides were quite appreciable and equally impressionable. It was one of the first castles of its clay brick construction type and of the 15th century.

Unfortunately, the front of the castle is undergoing restoration, but it is still a quiet place to visit. No complaints

Always a lovely place to visit at any time of year. Lovely more formal gardens with herbaceous borders and roses, with further longer walks in the fields and woods, with a fun rope maze to walk through. Good cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Well worth a visit.

Lovely walk around the grounds. The whole front was covered in scaffolding which was a shame. Good cafe and the kids loved the rope maze.

Only the garden was open. A bit expensive for what it is.

Fab! Only stayed for a short time, but very impressed with the site. Right now, the front aspect is under renovation however it didn't detract for vist. Nice easy walk, probably good for buggies or those not so good with steps as ramps etc are used throughout. Cafe was open with selection of sandwiches and drinks, the staff were friendly and helpful. We will be back soon for a longer visit.
