I had the chance to stop for a few hours in Eastbourne so headed over to visit the Pier and take a few photos, it was cold, wet and windy but that didn't stop me from enjoying a little stroll taking in the sea breeze and the sounds of the gulls arguing overhead. I had plenty of parking available due to the weather, but in the summer its not so easy, parking is cheap, but your in a coastal town so that's to be expected. great for all the family and wheel chair accessible.

Walked right to the end of the Pier and found a lovely tea room there. Unfortunately it was very windy and cold so we didn't stay too long. It's nice to be able to see and have free entry to an old historic Pier.

A great example of a British pier, walk down to the end with the choppy seas and high winds. Then for wonderful Tea and cakes in the cafe.

Well done to Eastbourne Council and all the workers for getting Eastbourne Pier open again so quickly and such quality of work. Where the building was destroyed on the pier, there is now a wide open space, but, actually, I like it...! Not sure if they are going to put another building on the site, but I rather like it as it is now. Nice to walk up and down and get some fresh air, visit the little twee shops and have a cup of tea. Long live those that remain of our piers - such history...!

When we last went to Eastbourne the pier was closed so we were interested in what had been done to it. We went 14th -18th December but were disappointed to see very few stores open. Couldn't see what had changed.

I am sure this pier holds wonderful memories for many locals, but when compared with Blackpool, Brighton, Weston Supermare & Southend I found it small and uneventful. However the restaurant on New Year's Day seemed particularly busy.

Lovely place to walk and a must visit when in Eastbourne. Think it is currently having work done because of the fire.

My friend took me here having had an epic fail at Beachy head earlier in the year to be fair I was not interested in the shops etc although the chips were tempting smell wise and a few other shops were open.
We walked to the end and the pier seemed as good as new repair wise as it had been many years ago on my last visit.

The weather was not great when we visited but it is must do activity. The pier has been restored after the fire. There wasn't much on because of the high winds when we visited but I have been there a few years ago and enjoyed it. We had a quieter visit this time and just enjoyed an evening tea at one of the tea rooms on the pier. You can get a decent view of the town from the pier.

Having lived in Eastbourne for most of my life I have a great affection for this pier. It has been rebuilt since the fire and has potential to become a great attraction in the town. The new owner has some good ideas like having a temporary ice rink in the winter. I do think it already looks nicer without the amusement arcade which was noisy and becoming an eyesore. The walk to the end is worth it for the views of the most attractive seafront in England.

This unusual coastal feature is situated due East of the Seven Sisters chalk coastline.
Increased erosion has caused a number of houses to fall into the sea over the past 100 years. Substantial chalk face cliff fall isolated the beach for a while. However, a new ramp was constructed to restore access to the beach via the metal stairs. Not suitable for disabled access. The shingle beach and rock pools are popular with visitors. Please DO NOT walk or sit close to the cliff edge or below it on the beach. Please keep dogs on a lead on the cluff top path as sadly they will be at rusk uf chasing a ball or a seagul ! My family and pets have enjoyed this little Sussex Coastal Treasure for many years. There is a small cafe situated adjacent to the stairs. Public toilets are situated behind the Conservation Centre at the corner of the car park.

We are regular visitors to Eastbourne and frequently walk around the pier. I understand that it is under new ownership and that planning is a problem for new structures after the fire. Not a lot on there at the moment

The pier is free to enter and has various gift shops, amusements and bars on it. It also has a viewing tower where you can see the whole of Eastbourne. It has been renovated after a recent fire offers and excellent stroll with plenty of places to sit, people watch and take in the sea air.

Visited in December when it was still being refurbished from the fire. Looking good. Due to the time of year, very few stalls were open.

If in Eastbourne, the pier is a must. You get a lovely view down the coast. It was an extremely windy and cold day but still worth a stroll.
