First time visit to the bandstand to see Badness. The venue is unique and very British. People were queuing an hour or so to get in but there were enough seats to easily accommodate everyone who had booked. The height of the bandstand stage helps when people get up to dance (I use that term lightly in some cases!) so you still get a decent view.

It was a bit chilly at times but being an open-air venue it’s the chance you take. The band were good with a mixture of ska songs.

like some other reviewers I also have a gripe about charging 20p to use the toilets whilst serving drink in the bar area. There was an attendant there at all times so why not increase the admission a little and let people just show their tickets to use the facilities.

Even allowing for that it is a cracking little venue and one I would return to.

A generous size band stand seating arranged so the views are good , some seating is covered overhead the rest in open. The area is surrounded by a semicircular screen so only paying guests can see but you can hear the music from plenty of areas outside especially the fireworks.

This is titled as the busiest bandstand in the UK and certainly as far as I am aware it is unique. There are shows on every day during peak holiday season and the ticket prices are very reasonable. On Wednesday evenings at 7.30 the doors open for a 2 hour concert with the 1812 overture as the climax accompanied by fireworks. Tickets are cheaper in advance at £7.75 for the full adult price. The musicians are of a high standard. The chairs are comfortable, there is a bar but you have to use the public toilet at 20 pence a go. Most of the seating is open to the elements. The Wednesday concert is great fun.

Wow, yet another fantastic evening at the Bandstand. Last night we went to see Mercury, the Queen tribute band, brilliant. So far this year have seen Lady Gaga, Pink, Phil Collins, Robbie Williams, and many more bands booked to see over the next few months. We have been so impressed that we have become Friends if the Bandstand.A great family event every week.

I've been to a few of the tribute shows at the bandstand and the calibre of entertainment has always been great, last night's Elton John tribute was overall, very good..my only comment on the show is that just when people were getting up to do the dancing he changed the tempo and mood and candle in the wind is pretty hard to jive to.... my other grumble is that when you buy a ticket to see a show you expect to be able to use the loo without a) leaving the venue and b) having to pay for it. There were quite a few of the towns "characters" hanging around outside the toilets.. i politely declined their offer to use one of their pockets when i couldn't find a 20p piece. I understand that the building is listed and they can't just add a bog, but surely it could be arranged that if you show your ticket to the attendant she should let you use the facilities for free. The bar area is tiny and staffed by 2 or 3 people, which is why the queue never seemed to get any smaller!

Eastbourne Bandstand is an elegant structure in Neo-Grec style situated along the Grand Parade and was built in 1935 and designed by Leslie Rosevere, a Borough Council Engineer. It has a main arena with upper balconies and originally had seating for over 3,500 people but due to rules and regulations the maximum capacity has been reduced to 1.600 seats. The bandstand is an iconic building in an attractive setting along the seafront.

The Bandstand hosts around 150 concerts a year and has the accolade of being the busiest bandstand in United Kingdom. We booked a Saturday night Tribute Band concert in advance and collected our tickets at the Box Office on the day of the concert. The show was excellent and well organised however if I had a gripe it was that some of the seats had seen better days and some were literally falling apart. It is a place worth seeing whilst in Eastbourne and even better when there for a concert especially on the warm summer's day that we visited.

Located right on the seafront a lovely looking bandstand. Can visit it in the day time when empty and just the seats are out or if you are lucky enough to see a performance there then you’re in for a great time.

The bandstand offers a number of different events and gigs over the summer months , tickets are well priced and hot ,
Cold and alcoholic drinks can be purchased inside along with a selection of snacks . All seats good and a dance floor area means you can get up and dance - only thing is bring a warm jacket when the wind whips up its freezing !
