Great theatre.
I was there for a 2 day conference, so chairs can be a tad uncomfortable after an 8 hr stay!
Otherwise..lovely theatre with a friendly resident ghost...

Staff are all very friendly, professional and courteous. Clean seating and toilets and the show was great (we saw Robin Hood the panto) they offered a booster seat for my son too which was an appreciated touch. I would happily revisit (i took my daughter 16 and son of 9)

The venue is beautifully restored and was a pleasure to attend as usual. The play was not Alan Aykborne's finest though!!!!

To cheer us all up, we went to the Pantomime. Snow White this year, great entertainment and really funny. For my American readers, Pantomime is a musical comedy stage show that is a staple of British culture and is often performed during the Christmas and New Year season. It’s anarchic in character consisting of much mayhem, subtle innuendo, hilarious jokes, plus music, song and dance. The word “pantomime” literally means “all kinds” of “mime”. It is thought to have evolved from the Elizabethan and Stuart era’s early masques, and the Tudor “Feast of Fools.” Pantomimes are known for their silly storytelling, exaggerated facial expressions and gestures, and role reversals, where the principal boy is played by a girl and the Dame by a man, (don’t ask)! It was brilliant, very funny with some really talented actors who could act, sing and dance all at the same time.

I watched the 2025 Snow White panto in December with family (we go every year) and I think that this has been the best for the past few years.
I love how so many of these actors come back year after year to reclaim their roles: vicious villainess, charming muppet and dashing dame who really likes *insert poor man who sat in front row... your funeral* and we can't forget the amazing musicians who really bring these HILARIOUS performances to life.

Also GOD DAMN that diva of a villainess can hold a NOTE, you go queen.
Also.... boooooooooo but slay as well xd.

I really enjoy how adults and teenagers can enjoy a panto just as much as kids. A perfect place for anyone, 1 to 100 (though, if your 100 year old grandmother gets fully assaulted by a man in a vegetable themed suit, a prince and ru-paul's second cousin, make shes got a pulse! Im joking of course 👀✨️).

Rib clutching, jaw dropping, heartwarming

To ANYONE who loves to have a good laugh, I recommend Devonshire's showstoppers pantomimes, can't wait 'till next year's!

One of the most special places to me, my family and I come here all the time and always one of those times is to see the fantastic pantomime at Christmas! It is our boxing day tradition, and it is my favourite thing to do! Love this theatre!

Absolutely hilarious and wonderful panto again this year! Great staff and beautiful theatre... Tucker and the Dame, as always, threw in some adult only innuendos and lots of ad lib when things went skew wiff.... Brilliant! Took a cheeky video until I got told off 😂 but can't find it 😔
