Nice public house with nice food friendly people

OMG! This place was amazing, they have COVID-19 measures in place which were perfected! We could not fault the efforts of the team/staff. Our booking wasn’t logged when we arrived, I had done this via email. Lukasz and Kat were happy to fix the error and have us safely sat at a table for our meal. It was our first time staying at Eastbourne and this was so close to where we were staying.
We had garlic mushrooms to start, beautiful whole meal crusty bread on the side, I ordered the blue cheese burger with chunky chips and my hubby ordered the cheeseburger and chunky chips, BURGER ME!! They were amazing! Piping hot, fresh and so full of flavour! Anti bac gel available and social distancing mastered, we stayed for desert too.We even went out on the terrace for another bottle of wine! All the team were really helpful and friendly but we hope Kat, Lukasz and the cook got most of the tip!

Visited this pub on a few occasions during a recent trip to the area. I had a lunch of sausages & mash which was very filling on one visit and the fish & chips that was excellent on another visit. On two evenings I went along to listen to the bands playing. The staff were excellent even during the busy periods. Highly recommend

I operated this pub way back in the 90’s and first time back since. Good basic traditional pub with lots going on. Very well located with a good function room. Didn’t eat but menu looked ok.

So friendly, no wonder it was packed. Amazing choice of gluten-free food, and they insisted on giving our two daxies a bowl of water and biscuit bone each. The food was absolutely delicious too.

Went in twice last week during our stay in Eastbourne, first time we just had drinks, but later in the week when we returned we had food and drinks, the food was fabulous. Staff are very friendly and helpful, on both occasions the pub was quite busy, great location just a couple of mins walk from our hotel on the sea front.

Staying in a hotel just around the corner we stumbled across this pub which welcome dogs as well..really handy because we had a little dog with us. The staff were absolutely wonderful really welcoming and friendly..the food was great felt really comfortable there so returned the same night to enjoy live music and a few drinks and then the next day for breakfast would recommend to anyone

We always seem to find our way back to the Crown and Anchor each time we come to Eastbourne...a lovely welcome as always..food always good, and football on TV wot more can I ask for??? Thank you for always making me and my partner feel very welcome...see you next school hols

Being a Transfemal I'm very aware of nice welcoming and safe environment to visit. This place was great, I had a fantastic night watching and singing along to a live SKA band in the Crown and Anchor. Really good, very busy and definitely going back. Didn't try the food but did see people eating, it looked good and reasonably priced.

Cannot praise highly enough! Food was fab! Freshly cooked and excellent quality. I had pork belly just wow! Perfectly cooked with lots of fresh veg all really tasty. Service was also really good. A busy night at the bar but staff attentive and gave great table service with drinks offered no need to leave the table. Cannot recommend highly enough! Thank you Crown and Anchor!
