The current production of Top Hat was excellent and the refurbishment of the Congress is generally first class. The seats are really comfortable and roomy. Some small attention to detail would help eg the steps leading up to the stage are badly scuffed and just need a coat of paint. But the main problem was access and signposting to get into the venue: given the demographic of the audience there are a lot of steps and very little information especially if arriving by public transport.

Saw Dirty Dancing which was great. Newly refurbished Congress Theatre with a new entrance. No more steps anywhere so easy access for disability. Dropped one star because I was freezing because of the air conditioning (I'll bring a blanket next time!), but otherwise glad to see it's back in business as there are a lot of good shows coming to Eastbourne.

An excellent theatre, now with air conditioning. Ice creams, coffee, alcohol and confectionery are all reasonably priced. Also the seats are comfortable and well spaced. Plenty of leg room for the taller theatre goers.

We had very good seats but found that the only problem was the sound was not very good at times. When the artists sing we were unable to hear what they were singing.

Mixed ability cast for a great show, although some unexpected serious issues with the refurbishment. The seating although now with longer legroom has poorly designed seating that offers no back support, a situation which you do not usually associate with good theatres. I suggest that a design review is arranged urgently. What opportunity has been taken to increase the number of toilets and the associated space which was always severely lacking? The new decor is rather modern and so unnecessarily dull and featureless - not an improvement really. Perhaps a desire to be modern accounts for the awful seating design.

Just visited the nearly revamped Congress Theatre after it being closed for about three years. The theatre now has a very up to date look with tones of black/white/grey and touches of yellow. A very enjoyable experience.

A newly refurbished theatre on a whole different level to the White rock theatre. Very friendly staff well organised lovely bar with comfortable seating. Good access and facilities for the disabled. We have been 3 times in recent months and it never fails to impress.

I had not visited the Congress Theatre for about 25 years or more, and remember it as a very old fashioned place so was surprised to find it very modern and spacious. Very comfortable.
