Good location but beware of the breakfast scam and how hot the place was without air con Sea view room is stunning and Location is perfect for the beach and pier Lack of air con and it’s a tad dated breakfast isn’t worth the money.

Be careful of the parking restrictions We were fined by staying for an hour in the parking space with automatic camera. The receptionist did say we could leave after unpacking but did not tell us about parking enforcement

Fantastic break away for the money so relaxing Very old hotel high ceilings. It is clean.
Breakfast was very nice and what a lovely view. All the hotel staff were very nice and went out of the way to be accommodating.
Right on the seafront near the pier. Walking to loads of shops and restaurants.
This beautiful old hotel is certainly not in its prime so you need to see past that. Seriously If you don't like lifts make sure you request a lower floor room.
In it's day this would have been very grand but it is now a bit tatty.
Car park small and ran out of spaces.

Breakfast was good, very friendly staff, parking.
Would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room especially when the weather is hot.

The hotel is a very old building, made up of multiple adjacent properties, with a spectacular amount of ground floor hosting space.
Parking, in their own rear car park, was just £6, a bonus in Eastbourne. We got the last space.
Our room was large with a high ceiling as it was on the first floor, but at the back, with a large bathroom, complete with a full bath and shower over. Spotlessly clean and comfortable but in a tired building. Fan was provided as we’re in a heat wave.
Table de hote dinner was excellent for £22 per head and house wine was the same price for a bottle. Huge dining room, and exceptionally quick service.
Slept well, but you will possibly hear noise from the floor above.
Breakfast was also excellent, huge range on the unlimited buffet.

It's a pity they don't spend money on doing this place up. I stayed in the torbay hotel last year also once owned by coast to coast hotels and they share the same faded grandour. The public rooms were once magnificent spaces by the look of it but the weather has taken its toll on the facade which needs work
My room was clean and functional but wall paper was peeling and I had a view of the burnt out part of the building from my window. But the bed was comfortable and I slept well despite the heatwave and had a desk fan. No air con here. Two ancient looking lifts and one of them tiny. You can take pets and the staff were nice enough. They have a turn on twice a week to entertain the mostly elderly coach tourists. I didn't eat so have no idea of the menu. The bar shuts early. Value for money but faded.

Spur of the moment 2 night break. Even though roadworks hindered easy prom access the hotel was located within easy reach of the beach and pier and restaurants. Room quite small but bearable especially as the 4th floor sea view is excellent even though the windows are very old they could be opened to help with the extreme heat ..which is what we came for!

Good stay. Friendly and helpful reception staff. All as expected. Hotel could do with a bit of an upgrade but I quite liked its 1980s vibe. Single room ok size with decent bathroom. Upper floors at rear have half decent views, over and beyond the car park. Guess you'd pay more for a sea view. Acceptable breakfast. Small charge for car park but allowed to leave car until 3pm on departure day. Good location for Eastbourne venues, shops and seafront. Lot of work going on around the hotel/seafront but I guess that will end eventually. Next door is a demolition site, but that's not the hotel's fault and it didn't really put me off.

Very enjoyable View from room was very nice looking over the sea, staff were very friendly and helpful, food was nice Some parts of the building could ddo with an upgrade, especially the lifts. Also the window frame in the room that I stayed in was very antiquated which hindered the opening to allow fresh air into the room

Good in parts Superior room with sea view was very roomy, comfortable, nicely decorated and an excellent bed. Reception staff friendly and efficient. Plenty of towels. Bathroom rather cranky and needed updating to match the room. Skirting needed a good clean. Minimal toiletry products, only a dispenser for basin and shower soap. Breakfast was very basic, with not a great choice.

Room was a good size, sea view good Lifts too small. I had tree rooms, the one with the bath, bath handle came off and toilet ring was loose. The other 2 shower, one didn't have shower safety floor mat and the other was missing.

The room was ok, spacious with a good view but the carpet was very stained and grubby looking. Food was good with great choice.
There was a nail sticking out of the divan base and my husband cut his leg in two different places on it. Reception apologised but weren't concerned. Couldn't changed base so Maintenance removed nail. Wouldn't stay there again.
