When looking for an architect to draw up plans for our extension we were recommeded Monika Ryan at Building Plan Design Ltd. From the start of this project we were faced with complications and changes because we live in a conservation area. We have used architects before but never has anyone been as thorough as Monika. She is professional, friendly, prompt and was with us every step of the way, changing plans, contacting the Council, chasing relevant people. She went over and above helping us. Work has recently been completed on our house extension designed by Monika. The work was carried out by a builder recommended to us by her. Monika handled the whole process, including getting planning permission from the South Downs National Park and building regs compliance. We are absolutely delighted with the end result and would highly recommend Building Plan Design.

We reached out to the team about a downstairs reno project (incl garage conversion) in our three bed semi. Monika, who has been extremely efficient, professional and helpful throughout, visited us to discuss ideas and advise on our options, before taking detailed measurements and coming back to us with initial designs. She suggested brilliant ideas we hadn’t thought of and will eventually proceed with. While we are sadly no longer in a position to continue our project at this stage, we will absolutely be returning to Monika’s expertise when we are ready!

We found Monika online and are really happy that we did. Our planning approval came through very quickly. We have changed our plans and ideas so many times, but she has always been there for us. My husband contacted Monika about our loft conversion as we needed some advise about some extra notes that our builder required, on top of the architectural drawings, building calculations that we provided. Monika did not do the original drawings but was still happy to help and advise us on our options. Her help was invaluable and put our minds at rest. We would highly recommend using Monika for any architectural drawings you need as she is very approachable and willing to explain anything that you are unsure of.

From start to finish on this project Building Plan Design were fantastic. Monika was the original Architect for home previous home owners, when we bought the property we asked if she could carry it on to final stages. Monika instructed Structual engineer to come to do his part and all was done smoothly.

Architectural where very thorough, very professional and helpful. I feel as a customer my ideas, concerns and thoughts were always considered. Any additional questions/queries where also answered straight away and always provided useful information. Quick and efficient when updating the plans. The plans were clear and creative. I cannot thank Monika enough for rescuing a very tricky situation regarding planning and permitted development. She is incredibly busy and could have easily declined my job. Not only did she help me but did the work exceptionally quickly to keep things on track at an excellent price. She also gave advice on permitted development and requirements for building regs for conversion. I had a quote over the phone by a different. Architect, that doubled following his holiday, saying he couldn’t remember what he said on the phone. Also gave wrong info on permitted development. Monika you’re a star!
