The Stud Farm Stables
Ascension Cider makes a range of great tasting artisan ciders including core apple ciders of differing strengths including Pilot, plus speciality flavours and limited edition ciders that celebrate the alchemy of the apple.
Made in Sussex using principally eating apples often rejected by the supermarkets because of their shape and size, rather than the more bitter cider apples, Ascension Ciders are made from only fresh apples (no concentrate, water or sugar here).
Ascension Cider is a family business owned by son and father, Matt and Martyn Billing, combining Matt’s cider making skills and experience with Martyn’s distribution and creative marketing expertise.
Based in an old apple store, on an orchard in East Sussex, where over 15 varieties of apple are grown, they are never short of ingredients or inspiration. Matt creates ciders that showcase the apple itself, as well as blending with other fruits and flavours to create a core range of ciders of different strengths plus a series of ciders that change with the seasons.
The balloon in the logo and the strapline, Cider with Altitude, stem from the family’s passion for hot hair ballooning. Matt’s Grandfather, David started flying in 1985, Martyn qualified as a pilot in the month of Matthew’s birth in 1991 and now Matthew is a third generation pilot. Hopefully you will soon see an Ascension balloon flying over Sussex and beyond.
The company has recently introduced a new range of cans, initially offering four blends, Pilot, their best selling apple cider, Purple Haze, a blackcurrant lemonade cider, Shimmy, a pineapple and lemon wild cider, plus a new cranberry sour cider, called Into The Jetstream.
Matt and Ascension have taken their already very popular still ciders and lightly carbonated them in the new cans. Attractive labels, featuring a hot air balloon, the inspiration for the company’s strapline, Cider with Altitude, features prominently on the smart eye-catching can design.
Ascension Ciders are made from only the juice of fresh apples (no concentrate, water or sugar) and are naturally fermented. All are gluten free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Ascension Cider are looking for new retail and trade customers to stock the new can range whilst also encouraging direct sales from their website.
Further details about the products and the company can also be found there whilst potential stockists can call Matt on 01323 344777.
