Pleasant and comfortable. I didn't have breakfasts.
It was quiet after 11pm.
I think thicker curtains would have kept more heat out and reduce the light pouring into the room at dawn.
There was considerable noise from doors swinging shut.

We had a pleasant stay at Afton Hotel. It's quite basic but very comfortable and the staff were friendly. We didn't try the breakfast, so not sure about that. The location is perfect in this beautiful beach side town. Right opposite the Pier and close to the shops in town, walk to beachy head.

Value for money basic accommodation in a central location. Central location. Staff seemed friendly. The TV worked. Not a lot of space in the (single) room. I left my towel in the shower as advised to have it replaced - but it was not. There was no shower gel in the dispenser, on my second day they left a little bottle. The room generally was in need of a lick of paint, new doors, tiling, etc.

Sufficient for a short stay. Location and staff were great. We also got a sea view room, which we did not expect (a bit let down by the construction site). The rooms did not have a bad smell or mould/damp, which was very important to us, so a big plus. Room 214: The kettle kept switching off and didn't work properly, the hook for towels was too high on the door and we missed it on day one (you really need one extra hook on the wall by the shower). There was no "do not disturb" sign for the door, I was there for 2 nights only and did not expect to have "room service" during my stay (I left my wallet in the room and was very disturbed to see that a staff member was in my room whilst we were out). The room was very warm at night, if AC is not an option, than a fan would have been a welcomed addition.

Excellent location, good stay Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. I was lucky enough to get the requests I asked for (including a balcony room and early check in). Only thing was the view and it’s not the hotels fault as there is a knocked down building and lots of scaffolding in front. The rooms could possibly be updated a bit but were fine

Although basic, it met my needs for one night. I wouldn’t recommend staying any longer. Staff were friendly and helpful. Locked storage for my bike was good. Good location for the pier and the beach. Hotel is a little ‘tired’. There was a lot of noise from other rooms. The room itself was very basic. The pillows were so thin I woke up with a very stiff neck. Bathroom very small and in need of update.

Good value for money, it was as expected for budget accomodation in a period sea-side building. Sea view. I was supprised that I had a view of Eastbourne Pier from a budget room Really unpleasant staining on one of the chairs in the room.

The location was brilliant so close to the beach and pier. Near the high Street aswell. The staff were very nice. The veiw would've been great of the sea if it wasn't for the construction right in front. The room felt quite claustrophobic but since it was a super great value and we were only there for 2 nights.

A basic hotel, at a very reasonable price. (And one of the few in Eastbourne with a modern-ish, decent-sized, functioning lift). The room itself was good sized, as was the bathroom, and everything worked properly. It was wonderfully quiet despite being close to a busy road. If you get one of the rooms facing the pier, you'll get treated to quite a show at dawn and dusk from the family of foxes which occupy the abandoned site across the way. The staff was lovely; very kind, welcoming and helpful, and the location can't be beat. it is directly opposite the pier, and only a few steps from the main shopping area and restaurant row. The bandstand is a short walk away, and they have concerts three nights per week throughout the summer. Would happily stay again. The water pressure in the shower was poor, though there was adequate hot water throughout my stay, The room that I was in did not have a table of any kind; not even a bed side table. (Only a small chest-of-drawers where the tea service was set). Would be good to add a small folding table, so that guests have a place to set things down.

Good place, would go again if i go Eastbourne again. Good service and good rooms. I liked that i was close off town centre. Like 2 minute walk. It has everything you need. Don’t really have no minus points.

Ok for an overnight stop, but needs a lot of work doing to the hotel to bring it up to an acceptable standard. Very good location, close to the pier and seafront. Easy permit parking via the hotel. The reception and bar area were uninviting, dark and dated. The bedroom was musty smelling and very basic.

Wanted a hotel close to Hippodrome theatre as we had tickets for a show. This was ideal. Good location. Very basic but everything we needed for a one night stay. Friendly proprietor. In need of refurbishment- decor and curtaining. Wi fi only available in lounge.
