Walking the Ceredigion Coastline

Sunday brought in heavy rain showers but not to be deterred we set out to Mwnt, a beautiful bay on the Ceredigion coastline.  It has a stunning sandy beach and although dogs are not allowed between May and September there is still plenty of paths, particularly the coastal path on which dogs are allowed.  Take care though some of the cliffs are very steep and many with sheer drops!  However although showers threatened and a little blustery it was wonderful to be walking in the fresh air.  The views of the bays both to the north towards Aberystwyth and south towards Pembrokeshire are breathtaking.  We caught sight of a Pod of Porpoises and a grey atlantic seal popped his head up to say hello - really cute with huge eyes.  There is a little chapel on the cliff top which is worth a visit.

After a couple of hours throwing sticks for Aphrodite (the dog) and watching a couple of buzzards and a red kite, hubby and I decided on lunch.  The Flatrock Bistro is not far away and do a great lunch.  Best of all it has fabulous views over Poppit Sands.  Although now a little damp and blustery we were safely inside but able to watch the mad surfers over on Poppit.  A great morning out - definitely to be recommended
